Piano players near you bring versatility that few other solo musicians can match. A single performer can cover gentle classical pieces for a ceremony, relaxed jazz at a drinks reception and contemporary pop hits for an evening celebration, adapting their style to each part of your event.
The style of music matters most when picking a piano player. Jazz-focused performers lean towards standards and swing, while classically trained pianists excel at formal ceremony repertoire. Many modern piano players blend genres freely, moving between instrumental covers of current chart songs and traditional favorites within the same set. Some also offer vocals, turning a solo piano booking into a full singer-pianist act. If your venue has an in-house piano, let the performer know in advance so they can assess whether to use it or bring their own digital keyboard.
Pianists in Halifax typically charge between $160 and $1,300+, with an average rate of $480. Shorter ceremony-only bookings sit at the lower end, while full-day packages covering multiple parts of a wedding or event cost more. Performance length, travel distance and whether the pianist provides vocals or additional equipment all affect the final price.
The average price for Pianists available in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada is $480 (CAD). Above you will also find a budget price and high end price. Contact the supplier you like for an accurate quote.

Elegant Piano: Cocktail, Jazz & Pop
"A wonderful experience with Jay. He was so responsive when we first contacted him about our event in Stonington CT (a birthday party for my mother with approx. 40 guests at the La Grua Center), and his repertoire spanned all of the types of music were were looking for (jazz, classical, some show tunes). His playing was just so lovely at the event. A pleasure to meet him and have him join this event. My mother was so thrilled and it made her birthday very special. Many thanks to Jay. Highest recommendation."
Cold Weather Company
"I can't say enough wonderful things about Cold Weather Company! Steve was my primary contact and he responded to every email promptly. He answered yes to all requests. The band arrived on time and agreed to stay for a late night acoustic set. They were consummate professionals. The music is why we chose the band, and it was amazing & beautiful to hear live. They were the perfect blend of background music that you really want to stop your conversation to listen to, however their cover of Let It Be was so moving, it silenced the room. We could not have chosen better for our fundraiser, all 150 guests were entertained! We are still hearing rave reviews."
Pianist
"Wonderful performer and very kind. I recommend to others. Thank you Raquel for your Wedding performance."
Vic Barreira
"When we talk about musical talent, and skilled soulful vocals, Vic Barreira is first on the list. Whether he's performing with a guitar or keyboard, Vic is the "real deal". His renditions of Neil Diamond, Elton John, Billy Joel, and the Beatles, as well as his own material is testament to not only his professionalism but for his love of music. Catch Vic live at your next venue and get ready to be blown away!"
Paul Cohen Piano
"Paul was great! He was accommodating when we asked him to play a custom song for our wedding ceremony and his personal jazz music was perfect for our cocktail hour. He was quick to respond to our emails and was the most professional vendor we worked with, we highly recommend him!."
