Arco String Trio is a Crete-based ensemble of three professional musicians brought together through a shared passion for live performance and creating meaningful musical experiences. With diverse international backgrounds and extensive performance experience, we offer a refined, modern string sound designed for contemporary weddings and events.
We specialise in bespoke music tailored to each celebration. Every event is approached individually, taking time to understand your vision, your style, and the atmosphere you want to create. From ceremony to cocktail hour and reception, we shape the music around your day so it feels natural, seamless, and personal.
Our repertoire blends classical elegance with modern songs, cinematic pieces, and carefully arranged contemporary music, always evolving to reflect current trends in wedding and event styling while maintaining a polished live string identity. We make a conscious effort to stay fresh and current, regularly updating our sets so the music feels relevant, stylish, and in tune with today’s celebrations.
We work with clear communication and a straightforward approach, ensuring an easy planning process with no language barriers or misunderstandings, just smooth coordination from first contact to performance.
At the core of what we do is professionalism, attention to detail, and musical sensitivity. The result is live music that enhances your celebration in a subtle yet powerful way, adding atmosphere, emotion, and a sense of occasion that stays with you and your guests.
= areas covered (up to 180 miles)On request
A string trio requires a clear performance area of approximately 3 m x 3 m (10 ft x 10 ft) to perform comfortably and safely.
This allows adequate space for three musicians (violin, viola, cello), their music stands, and natural playing movement, ensuring good visibility between players and a smooth, professional performance setup. The area should be on a flat, stable surface with enough clearance from walls or tight corners, allowing proper sound projection and an unrestricted performance.
For outdoor daytime performances:
Ample shade is required for the protection of the instruments and the musicians.
Drinking water should be provided.
If sound equipment is requested:
A nearby power outlet (electricity source) must be available for amplification setup.
1. Access
Easy and direct access to the performance area for unloading instruments and equipment
Clear instructions for arrival, parking, and loading/unloading zones
Any stairs, long walking distances, or access restrictions should be communicated in advance
2. Instrument Storage
A secure, clean, and dry space close to the performance area to store instrument cases
This space should be easily accessible throughout the event (not far from the playing location)
3. Waiting / Break Area
A designated space where the musicians can rest between sets or during long waiting periods
Preferably shaded, quiet, and comfortable
Access to seating is appreciated, especially for longer events with multiple sets
4. Performance Area Setup
Confirmation of final performance location (indoor or outdoor)
Level, stable surface suitable for string instruments and stands
We can provide simple sound amplification if required, depending on the venue, location, and number of guests. This service is available at an additional cost and is arranged based on the specific needs of each event.

We find our most memorable performances are the intimate, luxury villa weddings. These are highly personal, exclusive celebrations where every detail matters and the atmosphere feels truly special. In these settings, the music becomes part of the experience in a very natural way, and every moment, from the ceremony to the final notes, feels meaningful and unique.
Every event has its own unique atmosphere, and we approach each one with the same care and attention. As musicians, our role is to read the room and enhance that energy—whether it’s an intimate ceremony or a larger celebration, so the music always feels natural, fitting, and connected to the moment. No two events are ever the same, and that’s exactly how we like it.
We have a combined experience of over 60 years as professional musicians, performing internationally in orchestras, chamber ensembles, and wedding and event settings. Coming from Crete, Finland, and South Africa, we bring together different musical backgrounds and perspectives, united by a shared classical foundation and extensive conservatoire training.
We first began performing together in orchestral and ensemble environments, where our musical chemistry and similar artistic standards quickly became clear. With each of us already working individually as professional wedding and event musicians, forming a trio was a natural step.
From this, we created a dedicated ensemble focused on luxury weddings and high-end events, combining classical elegance with modern repertoire and a tailored, client-focused approach to live performance.
We are all classically trained musicians, and our biggest influences are the great classical masters who shaped the foundation of Western music. Composers such as Bach, Mozart, Beethoven, and Vivaldi continue to inspire us through their structure, emotion, and timeless musical language.
We also appreciate how their work has influenced almost all contemporary and popular music today—many modern songs and film scores are built on the same harmonic and melodic principles they developed centuries ago.
Rather than focusing on a single “favourite artist” or “greatest song,” we see music as a continuous evolution. For us, the greatest works are those that stand the test of time—pieces that still move people deeply, whether written hundreds of years ago or arranged in a modern context for today’s audiences.
We usually arrive 1 to 1.5 hours before guests to set up, depending on the event needs. Typically, we welcome guests with music as they arrive, which lasts around 30–45 minutes. We then perform during the ceremony itself, with timing dependent on factors like the bride’s entry, the venue layout, and the structure of the ceremony—usually 20–45 minutes.
After the ceremony, we continue at the pre-dinner reception or cocktail hour, performing for 45–60 minutes. All timings are flexible and tailored to the flow of the day, ensuring the music enhances each moment seamlessly.
Yes, we are very happy to perform outside. In fact, around 90% of our wedding performances take place outdoors, taking advantage of the beautiful Mediterranean weather in Crete. For outdoor performances, we just need ample shade to protect instruments and musicians, and access to water to stay hydrated.
We offer a flexible approach. Clients are welcome to have a say in what we play, and we can also suggest music to suit the atmosphere of the event if needed.
We work from a curated repertoire designed for weddings and events, but we also accommodate special requests. If a specific piece is not already in our repertoire, we can source or purchase the music, and if it is not available for string trio, we can arrange it specifically for your event. These custom arrangements are available at an additional cost.
revious clients most commonly describe our performances as highly professional, friendly, and accommodating, with a strong attention to detail throughout the entire process. They often highlight how we listen carefully to their wishes and adapt our music to suit the atmosphere and flow of the event.
Many also describe our performances as worth every cent, noting the quality of the music, our reliability, and the way we contribute to creating a refined and memorable experience without being intrusive.
In Progress
We have performed at a wide range of venues across Crete, including luxury private villas, boutique hotels, and theatres. Our experience covers both intimate destination weddings and larger cultural or performance settings, allowing us to adapt easily to different acoustics, atmospheres, and event styles.
In particular, villa weddings have become a core part of our work, where attention to detail and personalised live music are essential. We are also experienced in theatre environments, where precision, balance, and professionalism are key.
