Technical Info

What are your basic technical requirements?

I need a performance space of at least 10 feet X 4 feet. I require 2 power sockets and 1 parking space.

What information do you require about a venue?

I need to know any directions that will help me find the venue and find the right place to load in my equipment (saxophones, mics, PA speakers)

Do you provide sound and lighting equipment?

Yes, I'm completely self contained. I bring my own PA system to all of my gigs.

Can you provide a Spotify/DJ service before and between your sets?

Yes, we’re happy to play music from Spotify before, after and between our sets. We’re happy to choose the music ourselves or let the client choose the music.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the best gig you've ever done and the best venue you've ever worked at?

My best gig I've ever done was performing at the Halifax Jazz Festival in Summer 2025. That is also the best venue I ever worked at.

What's your favourite type of event?

Weddings and corporate events.

What's your previous experience and how did you start gigging?

I started gigging at high school and and have performed in front of thousands since, in the States and in Canada.

Which artists have you been most influenced by, who is your favourite artist and what is the greatest song of all time?

David Sanborn is my favourite artist, and the greatest song of all time is After The Love Has Gone by Earth Wind & Fire.

Performance Info

What are your typical setup and performance times?

I usually arrive 1 hour before the performance to set up. I perform 2 x 30 minute (one hour gig) or 2 x 60 minute sets (2 hour gig). I'm happy to play a bit longer or shorter, according to your needs.

Are you happy to perform outside?

I'm happy to play outside, but I ask for shade/cover, a flat level surface and a power supply close to the performance area.

Do the clients have a say in what you play or is it a set repertoire list only?

I can learn specific songs before the event but usually limit this to 5 songs. The clients are welcome to pick a set list from my repertoire or let me choose the music for them.

How do previous clients most commonly describe your performances?

I provide ambience for a calm evening, and can also provide energy for a night of dancing.

What saxophones do you perform at gigs?

I play the soprano, alto, and tenor saxophones, and bring these to all gigs.

How do you describe yourself as a musician?

I'm a jazz R&B saxophonist, and grew up listening to R&B from the 70s to present.
