Technical Info

What are your basic technical requirements?

Small performance area and access to power. I can provide my own professional sound system for most events. For larger venues or events with in-house production, I can connect directly to the existing PA.

What information do you require about a venue?

Venue location, event type, performance times, approximate guest count, available performance space and power access. Please also let me know if the venue has an in-house sound system.

Do you provide sound and lighting equipment?

Yes. I can provide a professional sound system suitable for most private events, restaurants and intimate venues. For larger events, I can work with the venue’s existing production setup. Basic ambient/stage lighting can be arranged if required.

Can you provide a Spotify/DJ service before and between your sets?

Yes, we’re happy to play music from Spotify before, after and between our sets. We’re happy to choose the music ourselves or let the client choose the music.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the best gig you've ever done and the best venue you've ever worked at?

One of the highlights of my career has been performing at Envision Festival in Costa Rica, where I was also deeply involved in producing and shaping the event over many years. Performing my own music for an international audience in the middle of the Costa Rican jungle remains a hard experience to top.

What's your favourite type of event?

Intimate gatherings in beautiful settings—private dinners, celebrations and events where the music becomes part of the atmosphere and there’s a genuine connection with the people in the room.

What's your previous experience and how did you start gigging?

I started gigging as a singer-songwriter more than two decades ago, playing clubs, listening rooms and festivals in the U.S. Over the years that grew into performing internationally while also producing festivals, concerts and community events. That combination of performer and producer has given me a strong sense for reading a room and understanding how live music can elevate an event without overpowering it.

Which artists have you been most influenced by, who is your favourite artist and what is the greatest song of all time?

Paul Simon, Ben Harper and Jack Johnson have all been major influences, particularly in the way they combine strong songwriting with rhythm, soul and an organic live sound. Paul Simon is probably my favorite artist overall—and if I had to choose one greatest song, I’d go with “Graceland.”

Performance Info

What are your typical setup and performance times?

I typically need 30–45 minutes to set up and soundcheck but always arrive around 2 hours early if possible to make sure there is time to settle in and feel fully ready. Performances are usually 2–3 hours, often divided into 45–60 minute sets with short breaks, and can be tailored to suit the flow of the event.

Are you happy to perform outside?

Absolutely. Outdoor performances are some of my favorites, especially in beautiful natural settings. I can provide a self-contained battery-powered sound system when access to power is limited.

Do the clients have a say in what you play or is it a set repertoire list only?

Absolutely. I have a broad repertoire and I’m happy to tailor the music to the occasion. Clients are welcome to share favorite songs, artists or the overall atmosphere they’d like to create, and I can often learn a few special requests in advance.

How do previous clients most commonly describe your performances?

Warm, soulful and engaging, with an easygoing presence that connects with the room without overpowering it. Clients often appreciate the balance between creating a beautiful atmosphere and knowing when to bring more energy to the occasion.
