About / Biography

Laura Gaya (Spain) - singer, violinist & pianist
Rémi Meurice (France) – pianist, clarinetist & saxophonist

When you sit down comfortably with your drink and start listening to the duo,
you feel immediately charmed by Laura’s delicate voice and Rémi’s smooth and
jazzy piano chords.
And after enjoying a couple of songs, you will feel surprised when Laura is
picking up her violin to entertain you with a beautiful pop song, or when Rémi
is playing a nice old song with his clarinet or saxophone.
Both musicians met in 2012 in Paris where they finished their degrees in musical
interpretation. Since then, they have never stopped exploring music together,
playing along in cruise ships, hotels, festivals and musicals venues across the
world.

“It will be a pleasure for us to entertain you with our music!”

Technical Info

What are your basic technical requirements?

We need a small performance space suitable for a keyboard and a standing singer, approximately 3 meters x 2 meters. We will bring all our own equipment and only require one 13 amp power socket and one parking space.

What information do you require about a venue?

We need to know any directions that will help us find the venue and find the right place to load in our equipment. We’d also need to be informed if there’s a sound limiter in the venue.

Do you provide sound and lighting equipment?

Yes, we’re completely self-contained. We bring our own microphones, amplifiers, and instruments to all our gigs. We only require ambient lighting, although we also bring a simple stand light if needed.

Can you provide a Spotify/DJ service before and between your sets?

Yes, we’re happy to play music from Spotify before, after and between our sets. We’re happy to choose the music ourselves or let the client choose the music.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the best gig you've ever done and the best venue you've ever worked at?

We performed for the Italian Formula 1 team at a famous Italian restaurant in Bahrain. They enjoyed it so much that they came back every day for a week to dine at the restaurant, especially enjoying our Italian songs!

What's your favourite type of event?

We love playing at all sorts of events but weddings are our favourite! The guests are always happy and it’s easy to get them dancing.

What's your previous experience and how did you start gigging?

We started gigging together whilst we met (13 years ago) and our performances developed from there. Since we started we’ve performed at hundreds of weddings, parties and events across the world (Spain, France, Australia, Costa Rica, Bahrain...)

Which artists have you been most influenced by, who is your favourite artist and what is the greatest song of all time?

Michael Bublé, Diana Krall, Stacey Kent, Ella Fitzgerald, Frank Sinatra... and 100 more artists.
Stromae is our favourite artist.
The greatest song of all time is Your song by Elton John

Performance Info

What are your typical setup and performance times?

We normally arrive 30min or 1 hour before the performance to set up. We normally perform 2 x 45 minutes or 2 x 60 minute sets. We’re happy to play a bit longer or shorter but we’ve found that these set times suit us and our audiences best.

Are you happy to perform outside?

We’re happy to play outside but we ask for shade, a flat level surface and a power supply close to the performance area.

Do the clients have a say in what you play or is it a set repertoire list only?

We can learn specific songs before the event but we usually limit this to 5 songs. The clients are welcome to pick a set list from our repertoire (more than 300 songs) or let us choose the music for them

How do previous clients most commonly describe your performances?

Previous customers would describe us as an elegant, refined duo that is very versatile, able to move from a lounge or ceremonial vibe to a late-night party atmosphere.
