Founded by industry professionals Harvey Coates and Tulsi Talbot, Mayura is a multi-genre music collective that provides music for a variety of functions, delivering top-tier performances fit for any occasion.
Mayura specialise in acoustic music across a broad array of styles including pop, jazz and folk. We provide performances for many different events and functions, including (but not limited to):

- Corporate Events
- Parties
- Ceilidhs
Whilst Mayura are predominantly an acoustic duo, larger lineups are available (subject to availability).
Harvey and Tulsi met at the University of Surrey, graduating in 2021 and 2022 respectively. Tulsi studied Music and was heavily involved in events management and performing, whilst Harvey studied Creative Music Technology and specialised in composition, sampling and production. During their time together at Surrey they would frequently collaborate, with Harvey playing in Tulsi's bands on a number of occasions, thus forming the bedrock of Mayura.

We need a performance space of at least 4 meters x 2 meters. We require 2 x 13 amp power sockets and 1 parking space.
We need to know any directions that will help us find the venue and the right place to load in our equipment.
Yes, we can provide our own PA (2X1400W speakers). We don't have any lighting equipment.
Yes, we’re happy to play music from Spotify before and between our sets. We’re happy to choose the music ourselves or let the client choose the music.
The best gig we've ever done was for Oxford Christmas Market in 2024. The crowd were fantastic and enjoyed singing and dancing along with us!

We started performing together at university and have both developed hugely as musicians since then. Harvey, the guitarist plays in post-punk band Shtëpi (very different to this!) whilst Tulsi has been an actor-musician in several theatre productions.
The music we love playing the most would be soul/motown/jazz, so we'd have to say artists like Ella Fitzgerald, George Benson, Sam Cooke - a more contemporary inspiration would be Laufey, we think her music is awesome and although audiences don't always recognise it they always ask 'what song was that' afterwards!
We aim to arrive one hour before the performance time. The typical running time is 2 X 50 minutes, with a 15 minute break in between.
Yes, we're happy to play outside but we ask for cover, a flat surface and a power supply close to the performance area.
We can learn specific songs before the event but we usually limit this to 5 songs. The clients are welcome to pick from our repertoire or let us choose the music for them.
We'd like to think that our previous clients would describe us as a classy and professional group that loves to get the audience singing.
