MOTA are a 4-piece covers band playing high-energy rock/pop floorfillers to get audiences dancing all night. From the Kinks to The Killers! MOTA formed in 2023 from members from two other bands who wanted to play together. Vocals, Guitar, Bass and Drums. We are all highly experienced musicians who have played rock and pop music on the circuit for many years. We play most weekends in pubs and clubs from York to Blyth.
We love performing live and especially making sure people have enormous fun dancing to their favourite well-known numbers. Our main motivation is to see our audiences having the time of their lives. Our setlists are created only from well-known and well-loved songs across the decades.

We supply full PA and all necessary equipment and lights. We only require a minimum of 2 normal electricity socket outlets. We bring and set up everything else.

Yes, all provided. We are. Completely self contained. With PA and a simple lighting rig.
Yes we provide on request interval and/or DJ music in a variety of genres. Just tell us what you’d like.
All our sound reproduction equipment is professional grade. We use Mackie PA controlled by a digital mixer. Guitars, amplifiers and drums are the same models used by famous professional performers. We use a mixture of stage-monitoring and in-ear monitoring.
Almost all our gigs have been memorable and exciting. Small gigs are intense and amazing. Stage gigs are great in a different way. Parties are fun because people are always up for fun!
Stage gigs and parties are our favourites but smaller club and pub gig are great too.
All four of us have been gigging semi professionally for many years in various bands. MOTA was formed in 2023 as an ideal vehicle for our personal requirements. We now play 50 to 60 gigs per year all over northeast England.
We are all classic rock nerds and love rock and prog. Our favourite song to play in our sets is Chasing Cars by Snow Patrol though!
We normally arrive 2 hours before the performance to set up. We normally perform 2 x 50 minutes or 3 x 60 minute sets. We’re happy to play a bit longer or shorter but we’ve found that these set times suit us and our audiences best.
We’re happy to play outside but we ask for shade and rain protection, a flat level surface and a power supply close to the performance area
We can learn specific songs before the event, with sufficient lead time, but we usually limit this to 3 songs. The clients are welcome to pick a set list from our repertoire of over 55 songs or let us choose the music for them.
