We are a Ukrainian/English string quartet based in the North East of England. Our violinists, Kostia and Iryna, are professional violinists from Kiev and they have teamed up with local musicians Penny and Jill. Our core repertoire is classical, but we offer a wide variety of other music including jazz, latin american, film music and pop. We can put together a repertoire for most tastes and occasions. We have played at events such as weddings, funerals, family parties, charity balls, club dinners and our own concerts.
We can also offer music with our outstanding soprano singer Sofia who is currently in her final year at the Royal Academy of Music

We need a performance space 3mx2m with lighting and 4 chairs. If outside we need protection from wind and rain.

Our best gig was probably performing a concert to raise money for Ukrainian charities. The warmth of the audience was amazing, and they really enjoyed our Ukrainian folk music which we don't get to play very often.
We love any event where guests love to hear us play. Weddings are always a favourite, as there is so much positive energy, and the couple always take a long time to think about music choices that are personal for them.
Kostia and Iryna, our violinists, played for 20 years in the Kiev Opera, the Ukrainian Chamber Orchestra and various smaller ensembles in Ukraine. So performing is in their blood.
As classical musicians, we love Haydn, the father or the string quartet
We like to arrive 45 minutes before the performance to check out the venue. We usually play sets of 45 minutes to 1 hour. We can tailor our performance to the event.
Yes, as long as the weather is dry and there isn't much wind. We need a level surface and shade, and ideally a location close to a wall or hard surfaces to make sure the sound projects well.
We always send our repertoire list to clients so they can choose music that is special for them. We are willing to learn new pieces provided we can get hold of a good arrangement. Sometime we might charge an additional fee if a client asks us to learn something complicated or expensive to purchase.

Most of our work is for weddings and private parties so we would not name our clients in order to maintain their privacy
