We are a medieval ensemble playing genuine music of the Middle Ages (10th to 14th centuries) in our best guess at the way it was originally performed: lively songs suitable for dancing/parties, gentle songs suitable for holiday/cocktail background, or contemplative sacred music (such as Gregorian chant or Hildegard von Bingen) for spiritual/meditative retreats. We are 100% acoustic, using a mix of historic instruments and modern or world instruments that have been carefully chosen to achieve a medieval sound.
As a collective, we can provide different types of performances suited to your event. From quiet garden-corner entertainment by 3-5 musicians to performances with a full ensemble of 12 musicians and musician-dancers (playing castanets, zills, or frame drum), we can accommodate a variety of medieval- or Renaissance-themed events. We also do softer, sacred music suitable for meditative retreats (e.g. Gregorian chant, Hildegard von Bingen), and can play processional music as a medieval marching band. We are all-accoustic, so there is no need to hire a sound engineer.

We normally arrive 1 hour before the performance, and perform for one hour.
We are happy to perform outside, ideally in an area with good acoustics, such as near a hard wall. If the performance is in a nature environment, we would recommend a larger ensemble as sound dissipates in open air.
