That's What She Said has been rawkin' in some form or another for several years in the depths of Allan's musical lair. The current line up consists of Melody Green (Lead Vocals), Allen McKeown (Rhythm Guitar, Vocals), John McGeough (Lead Guitar, Vocals), Andre Bourque (Bass) & Matt Jones (Drums, Vocals).
Melody was allowed to join the band because she showed up with a Swiffer and the boys are messy. Striving to become the female Mick Jagger since she was 3, this is as close as it's gonna get. Singing and speaking in tongues since she was born, entertaining the masses was a common weekend event. Practicing and playing out are therapy and gym time combined for her. Now with "That's What She Said", it's always showtime and all the worlds a stage. Come out and see for yourself!
Technology Professional by day and gear head at night. Allen loves guitars / amps ... a lot. Sometimes music gets in the way and has wasted time practicing and being nice to his bandmates. He has mastered the band politician role, and ensures that only 'quiet crying' takes place amongst the members of 'That's What She Said' when learning new songs. Allen has broken up 3 bands, and is mostly still in contact with all members through his solicitor. But seriously folks (God bless JW) ... music is what keeps him grounded and interested in life. If you have seen us play .. thank you!
John is the self-appointed elder statesman of the group -- actually he had little to do with that appointment, but you could say that he has had more time on earth than the other members of TWSS. But he has put this time to use, having been immersed in music since he was very young, and dabbling in piano, saxophone, and drums. John finally settled on the guitar! Musically, John likes to play bluesy rock music, enjoys clapping off the beat, and sometimes writes alternative lyrics for songs, just like Weird Al with less fame and money.
Folks that tolerate Matt being within arms reach are the salt of the earth and those that don't kick him out of the band entirely are even better. Matt's been playing music for the majority of his life, enjoying the sanity it brings in an ever-increasingly mad, mad world. Laying down the backbeat in the back row is where Matt finds comfort; and perhaps throwing the odd stick at an out of line bass player. If you see him around, shout HELLO!! and wave madly....then call the authorities immediately, do not approach. André happily plays the role of the easy-going, stoic and reliable bass player, but occasionally loses the script and moves into "class clown" territory.
A man of few words, André hopes that sideways glances, some head-bopping , the occasional raised eyebrow and smiles do the communicating instead. André occasionally tries to respond to Matt's drumstick-throwing with some pick-throwing but finds that it's not as effective. André is a total anti-gearhead and barely knows how to use a jack-cord (despite all of his years working as an engineer), but loves how the bass makes a song come to life.
Dan Dan the Keyboard Man, joined just over a year ago, and tickles the ivories and rounds out harmonies (and soon to be lead vocals on some songs) with his 'Michael Anthony' voice. Dan has played many different genres of music and enjoys a good polka ... he is the 3rd Schmenge Brother Louste. Try as he may, he still has 5 other band members before one of his tunes hits the stage! Dan is an amazing player and always finds a way to add authentic parts to songs through his masterful keyboard techniques, soothing vox and rhythmic clapping
