The art of Afro-Cuban jazz combined with Latin pop is the essence of The Cuban Boys. Without losing the cuban, they take us on a musical journey full of diverse musical currents that make the sonority of The Cuban Boys unique.
Project formed by Cuban musicians based in Belgium and Holland. I invite you to “Mi viaje” to go around the world.
Andrés Fernández Ordoñez Trombonist, composer, arranger, and teacher of Cuban descent. Graduated from the Higher Institute of Arts in Havana, Cuba, with a master's degree in light and jazz music from the Royal Conservatory in Antwerp. He has always pursued his artistic career in parallel with his teaching career. Andrés has been a member of prestigious national and international bands such as Gabriel Ríos, Thomas de Prins and Mangold del Cobre, Rey Lema y su Rumba Congolesa, Richard Bona y Mandekan Cubano, and David Murray Big Band. Andres has released three albums: “En mi habana” (2005) and “Abriendo Caminos” (2010) with the group Contrabando, and “Colores” (2017) with The Cujazz ensemble. Andres is currently involved in various musical projects, such as “The Cuban Boys” and “The Atomic Orchestra,” and teaches piano and trombone at the Academy of Willebroek and the Conservatory of Mechelen.
