"Cold Weather Company were an amazing addition to our event. Steve, Brian, and Jeff exceeded all expectations with original songs + covers! They have a unique sound, where Mumford and Sons meets Bon Iver. Perfect choice if you are looking for an Indie/Folk band, who put their twist on anything from The Beatles to Vance Joy. "In perfect harmony Private Function on Wednesday 23 February 2022 I like to think I know a thing or two about music (don't we all!), or perhaps I'm being a bit smug, having been a music journalist most of my working life. So when my friend, Tim, asked my opinion about a band to have for his business functions, I had no hesitation in recommending MAYHEM. I have only seen the band perform once, at a club in Hertfordshire, but, even with my so-called wide experience, I was taken aback to hear such superior use of harmony and dynamics, unusual in these settings to say the least. Of course, the subtleties of the music went completely unnoticed by the clientele, even though the band was very well-received, on the basis of it's well-chosen set of popular songs with a strong beat. The two voices are excellent in their own right, but taken together, the reward is even greater, a perfect blend of harmony, made all the more interesting by the clever use of the arrangements, which make the backing tracks - self-made by the band - seem to be bent to the will of the singers, not the other way round as is usual with someone singing to a track. Not only the vocals, but the supreme skill of a virtuoso keyboard player - when I later learned about his history, it all made perfect sense to me, someone who was responsible for a whole musical genre was not about to lose his touch. As for Tim, after hearing only the first few songs, he made up his mind to offer the band a residency. And so he should....... Jack Diamond, Thursday 24 February 2022 "

"Rating 5/6 : Very Enjoyable Absolute Mayhem The Horse & Chains, Bushey on Saturday 30 September 2023 It's a rare thing to go into a local pub and hear a keyboard player who has been described as a musical "genius" by none other than David Bowie. This is no tall story either. The musician Billy Ritchie was the first player in rock music to give keyboards a prominent role -- and that was before Keith Emerson (ELP) and Rick Wakeman came on the scene. Billy told me that he remained good friends with the Thin White Duke until his death in 2016. Lanark-born Mr Ritchie now provides the skilful and fancy keyboards and records backing tracks for his latest incarnation Mayhem with talented female singer Carol Leslie. Carol is a really strong vocalist with a gutsy style. This dynamic duo started their first set at the cosy Sebright Arms with Elvis's late sixties' classic Suspicious Minds. The second song was a surprise -- Kirsty MacColl's comedy number There's A Guy Works Down The Chip Shop Swears His Elvis. It was a perfect choice after the first song. Carol and Billy select their material wisely and give their audience something very different from the predictable Mustang Sally, Brown Eyed Girl and I Saw Her Standing There, churned out by so many pub bands. So it was great to hear Georgio Moroder and Phil Oakey's electro smash Together In Electric Dreams, Matchbox's catchy rocker Rockabilly Rebel, Starship's uplifting We Built This City (on which Billy demonstrated his keyboard dexterity) and Solomon Burke's gospel-ish Cry To Me. And that was just the first half. Carol is happy to tackle songs usually associated with male vocalists and she started part two with a raucous version of Bryan Adams' rocker Summer Of 69. If you have never seen Mayhem, ask Billy to perform Light My Fire, the Doors rock classic from 1967. This was a sheer musical masterclass as he re-created both vocally and instrumentally this great song. Billy has a rich, tuneful voice and this was a stunning performance. Other highlights in the second half included Journey's rock anthem Don't Stop Believing, Carol's gritty interpretation if Shania Twain's Man I Feel Like A Woman and a fine performance of Bon Jovi's Living On A Prayer A total of 24 songs and I cannot wait to see this duo again. My only concern is their name. I think many club and pubgoers might think Mayhem are a heavy metal band rather than an all-round, top class duo. "I hired Avishag for the proposal to my girlfriend. She perfectly played the part of a street performer playing some of my gf's favourite songs before letting her know it wasn't a random performance after all, and after the proposal, my gf became my fiancée. Thank you so much Avishag for your help in making a wonderful moment come true. It was all put together very last-minute by me, but she was quick to respond and did a fantastic work with my requests. She has an amazing voice and a great personality, I couldn't recommend her enough."

"As a wedding planner, I had the absolute pleasure to work with Victoria as she played live piano music at a wedding reception. I would recommend her from the bottom of my heart to any couple looking for a pianist to add that extra magical touch to their wedding day. She's been nothing short of amazing throughout the whole process - super friendly and easy to communicate with, punctual and extremely flexible on the wedding day - everything that a wedding planner wants in her team. "I have been a musician and music teacher for more than 50 years and about 4 or 5 years ago I had the good fortune to start working on a musical project with Helen. She is not only a very skilful and talented piano player/vocalist but also very musically knowledgeable. She certainly knows her music theory and her ability to create vocal harmonies belies her years. I cannot speak highly enough about Helen with dedication and reliability being two more of her attributes."
