Review Centre: 1950s Era Musicians & Bands

"Miss Dolores and her excellent 'combo' played a selected repertoire for our wedding reception in December. We were impressed with the band's flexibility and quality of performance and of course Miss Dolores's beautiful and seemingly effortless singing. So many of our guests commented on the band and congratulated us on choosing them. Miss Dolores looked stunning in a lovely sequinned dress. In planning for the event she was keen to give us what we wanted, offering us an extensive repertoire of American song book, swing, latin, lounge, jive, rock & roll and contemporary songs, based on our initial conversations, and said there were many more to choose from if we needed them! She also recorded the song we'd selected for our 'first dance' so we could practice to it beforehand, which was very helpful indeed. Thank you Miss Dolores, we loved the music and relaxed vibe you generated for us on our special day."

"Please will you pass on our thanks to all members of Mr Swing’s Dance Orchestra. We have such good memories of our friends having a great time when the swing band was playing and loads of people have been in touch to say how much they enjoyed the music. We really hope to see you perform again in the North West but until then we shall continue enjoying listening to the CD – it has enlivened every car journey since we returned from honeymoon. "Thank you once again for making my father’s birthday party such a great success. Having the party on a boat made for slightly more difficult logistics but your professional yet flexible and enthusiastic approach to the situation really helped. On arrival you quickly tuned into the nature and tone of the event and your personality and sense of fun charmed everyone. You play the accordion wonderfully and is the perfect accompaniment to your beautiful voice transporting us all to a timeless Left Bank cafe in Paris. As you know, my father was enchanted by you. He said that you were the absolute highlight of the party. And that’s the first time I can remember dancing with my mum! "

"Saw the Acchords for the 2nd time. They are definitely the greatest doo wop group ever. Their talent is incredible, closed my eye and felt like I was 17 again. They are as good as the original groups. Will see them again in August. Keep it going, we love the music."
