"We had Leon at our wedding performing as guests were arriving, when Aimee walked down the aisle and a set at the reception. Leon was fantastic! We could not be happier with his professionalism, talent and general persona. Our guests have been raving about him since and we want to thank him so much for adding to our special day. We would recommend Leon to anyone. Great voice!"

"Review received on 9/13/2023 A night to remember with the Jersey SureCats Band! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ I can't say enough about the amazing performance by Jersey Surecats Band at my husband's staff party! They truly went above and beyond to make it an unforgettable night for everyone on the cardiac step down unit. The setting, with the band playing on the elevated covered porch overlooking the beautiful Shark River in Avon by the Sea, NJ, was absolutely picturesque. As the music filled the air, the energy was palpable, and everyone danced the night away on the bluestone patio below. Each member of the band brought their unique talent to the stage, creating a harmonious blend of sounds that kept the crowd moving. Chuck Conlin's guitar skills were nothing short of extraordinary, while Eileen Meara's vocals were simply mesmerizing. Andy Magerowsky's bass guitar added a powerful depth to the music, and Bill Waldron's guitar expertise was the perfect complement to the ensemble. The diverse range of songs they played was a testament to their versatility and musical prowess. From the timeless classics of the British Invasion era to the energetic hits of the 80s, they covered it all. The transition from the Romantics to the Rolling Stones was seamless, and they flawlessly moved through genres, paying tribute to legends like Jefferson Airplane, Led Zeppelin, Janis Joplin, CCR, Lynyrd Skynyrd, and more. But they didn't stop there! Jersey Surecats Band took us on a journey through the 90s, delivering powerful renditions of songs by Pink, Pearl Jam, and Foo Fighters. The Motown and Disco hits had everyone grooving, and their rendition of modern favorites by the Lumineers, Jason Mraz, and Adele showcased their ability to stay current while honoring the classics. What truly set them apart was their dedication to ensuring everyone had an incredible time. They graciously agreed to stay overtime, playing an additional hour because nobody could resist the infectious beats. Not a single person sat down the entire evening, a testament to the band's ability to keep the party alive! Jersey Surecats Band's performance was nothing short of spectacular. If you're looking for a band that can cater to diverse musical tastes and deliver an unforgettable experience, look no further. I can't recommend them highly enough. Thank you, Jersey Surecats Band, for making this celebration one for the books!"

" I am proud that the Rick Holland - Evan Dobbins Little Big Band calls Tala Vera cantina home once a month. Rick is a consummate professional as well as a top tier musician. His Band comprises the best players Rochester has to offer. Such talent coupled with an amazing book of swing and traditional jazz, presents a special evening of music every time they play at Tala Vera. Bernard Matthews, Owner of Tala Vera, Rochester, NY I have had the pleasure to do some arranging and writing for Rick's groups and I have to say that his groups are always chocked full of the best musicians around. It's a pleasure to have music played with precision and integrity - no matter what the style or genre. I would highly recommend any or Rick's groups for a jazz or commercial setting. Jim Martin, Grand Rapids, MI We had the pleasure of having the USO-10 piece play at our wedding in May 2017. From the minute we met Rick Holland and heard the band play we knew they were the band for us. It was a pleasure to work with Rick, who was so professional and helpful in many ways especially song choices from everything to cocktail music, our entrance song, first dance, parent dances to our exit song. The dance floor was never empty. We are thrilled with the USO and look forward to hearing them again in the near future!! Thank you for making our wedding so special! Maureen and Mark Deckman Sometimes it all just falls into place. The setting, the situation, the scene, the tone -- everything is going your way. That describes last night for me. And at the heart of this mid-week Xanadu was the Rick Holland Uptown Orchestra, a modest, brass-centric outfit led by the trumpet-blowing Holland that swung with equal parts effervescence and laid-back cool at Lovin Cup. And come to find out, five of his Hollands regular guys were sidelined, and the holes on the bandstand were plugged with subs --- hired music muscle like Po’ Boy Erik Jacobs on the slide trombone. By the time the Orchestra heaped on a helping of Count Basie, there was nowhere else I wanted to be. I dragged my mom out in the cold for this show and she was thrilled when they stomped on the Savoy. Holland led the affair with a relaxed air, coaxing more than conducting under his porkpie lid. He went around the bandstand numerous times so every cat there got his fair shake, including pianist extraordinaire Bill Dobbins. This is one sweet band, yes, yes. Frank De Blase, Roch City News With all the hype going to Wynton Marsalis, you might not guess that there are other, lesser-known, straight-ahead trumpet players out there who are consistently ripping the hide off the ball. This, Rick Holland's auspicious debut, is an impressive effort. The trumpeter leads his quartet, backed by a solid Michigan-based rhythm section: pianist Terry Lower, bassist Ed Fedewwa, and drummer Larry Ochiltree, through a fiery trail of originals and standards, interspersed with some fine balladry. Holland's sensitive ear translates to some tight arrangements and a well-organized program. On flugelhorn, he boasts a rich, full tone that purrs with warmth. On the faster tunes, he steams. This is the kind of jazz that feels just right on a wintry day, with the fireplace in full throttle, and the feet resting on a cushion: it hits the spot perfectly, drenched with emotional power and skillful fortitude. "Robin and Jack were fantastic - super communicative, friendly and played a fabulous set. Two very talented musicians! They read the room very well and set a great tone for the evening which really facilitated the event. We had positive feedback from attendees who enjoyed the range of songs played and the upbeat atmosphere created by the live music. Throughout the booking process and event, they were flexible and professional in accommodating our requests."

"Dear Jess, Thank you from me and Mat!!! You and your band have been absolutely fantastic - we really enjoyed having you sing and play so beautifully and for being so flexible with timing. EVERYONE loved you and the band - they all said you have the most fabulous/ stunning voice and presence. The "EVERYONE" includes all the chefs (they were boogying whilst getting the meal out), the floor staff, and my neighbours who were still working in the garden and didn't quite make over to dinner. Thank you also for singing the 2 songs I requested - my brother (the one who led the speeches) was very touched as they were for him and thought you sang them beautifully! We will certainly be in touch again when we entertain with live music again! With very best wishes to you and all your band members Yvonne & Mat "

"I LOVED the Kind of Blur Christmas gig. All the arrangements were so clever, reinventing familiar songs in a whole new way... it was delightful. Each of the instrumentalists were excellent, and I really loved the singer/piano player, whose interpretations of the arrangements fitted the vibe perfectly. It was laid back, fun, entertaining, quality music-making. Well done Kind of Blur!"
