The Jazz Kings are now recognised as one of the most sought after jazz bands in Queensland and beyond and released their first CD Out of Nowhere in December 2020 and their second CD Blue Jazz was released in Jan 2024. (Both CDs have had airplay on both local, interstate and international radio stations). Although formed in 2017, each member has decades of professional experience in all aspects of the music industry as performers, entertainers, recording artists, teachers, backing/support to local, national and major stars, floorshows, and also in television, radio and media.

Although jazz is their main genre, they have an extensive blues and swing repertoire which has been demonstrated at many festivals and venues including Jumpers and Jazz Warwick, The Brisbane Jazz Club, The Tedder Ave Flower Festival, CSI Southport and have been booked on the Bravo Performing Arts cruise Oct 2024. The band opened the new Cotton Club at De-Vitos (March 2022) and were reviewed as "The Jazz Kings are capable of conjuring the grit of the blues, the swing attitude of the big band era and the ache of ’60s soul - Frazer Goodman - Jazz Cabaret Variety". The Jazz Kings can also be booked as a 6 piece with resident vocalist Nicole Parker-Brown.

We specialize in setting the perfect mood for any occasion with a comprehensive repertoire from jazz greats such as Chet Baker, Ella Fitzgerald, Duke Ellington, Hoagy Carmichael, Cole Porter and many many others. The band features Peter Uppman (trumpet and vocals), Gordon Matheson (guitar), John Conley (bass ), Jose McLaughlin from Gerry and the Pacemakers (keys and vocals) and Rod Ford (drums and vocals). Nicole Parker-Brown is our resident female vocalist if a 6 piece is required.
