Review Centre: Swing Bands

"Frank De Blase, Roch City News Sometimes it all just falls into place. The setting, the situation, the scene, the tone -- everything is going your way. That describes last night for me. And at the heart of this mid-week Xanadu was the Rick Holland Uptown Orchestra, a modest, brass-centric outfit led by the trumpet-blowing Holland that swung with equal parts effervescence and laid-back cool at Lovin Cup. And come to find out, five of his Hollands regular guys were sidelined, and the holes on the bandstand were plugged with subs --- hired music muscle like Po’ Boy Erik Jacobs on the slide trombone. By the time the Orchestra heaped on a helping of Count Basie, there was nowhere else I wanted to be. I dragged my mom out in the cold for this show and she was thrilled when they stomped on the Savoy. Holland led the affair with a relaxed air, coaxing more than conducting under his porkpie lid. He went around the bandstand numerous times so every cat there got his fair shake, including pianist extraordinaire Bill Dobbins. This is one sweet band, yes, yes "

"Artur was phenomenal, a class act and the most special final touch at our wedding. The ceremony was beautiful and everyone loved his performance. Professionali e amichevoli in tutto, la nostra giornata è stata perfetta anche grazie a loro! Musica adatta sia per i piu "grandicelli" come i nostri genitori, che per i giovani, tutti hanno ballato e si sono divertiti e ci hanno fatto un sacco di complimenti! Ancora di più il loro batterista: ha pure rischiato la vita con un pezzo di bastone della pentolaccia che gli è volato a 1 cm dalla faccia... Brividi. ma tragedia evitata. Gli Uke hanno continuato a suonare pezzi perfettamente in armonia con la festa fino allo stremo delle forze (il cantante non aveva più la voce alla fine). Grazie mille anche per questo ragazzi, è stato un matrimonio all'insegna del divertimento e vi siete adeguati alla perfezione, pure con sprezzo del pericolo. Grazie ancora e buon proseguimento!"

From the start, his communication was excellent, he made sure to understand our preferences and even visited the venue ahead of time to test the piano. I personally dealt with Francesco who made a contract for me, he was super understanding of the type of the event, the organisation and untill know I can highly recommend him for his communication skills. I feel I can drop him a message at any time and he will answer within hours the same day. Highly professional can't wait to see Francesco and the rest of the band, performing at my wedding. "

"C'est bien d'avoir écouté quatre saxes qui jouent tout. Une ascension musicale du classique aux canons du jazz ... Je les ai aussi entendus autour de Bologne avec leur swing et les chansons de la Reine, les bandes sonores et les jeux vidéo (Super Mario) sont tout simplement bons."

"We hired Vibrant Jazz fairly last minute and were impressed with how efficiently they responded to emails etc to organise the booking. They made everything hassle-free. The band were fantastic on the night and all of our guests were really impressed. The music fitted perfectly with our 1920's style event and the band were happy to stop and start around our speeches etc. We would definitely recommend them and would use again in the future. Entertaining, efficient and great value for money!"
