"Scott is a regular performer here and one of our favorites! Not only is he an amazing musician and has developed quite a following at our venue, but he is also very professional and incredible to work with. Even as a solo performer, if you close your eyes you might guess you're listening to a trio! Such full sound and always the highest quality performance. He's just THAT good! I would very highly recommend him."

"Review received on 9/13/2023 A night to remember with the Jersey SureCats Band! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ I can't say enough about the amazing performance by Jersey Surecats Band at my husband's staff party! They truly went above and beyond to make it an unforgettable night for everyone on the cardiac step down unit. The setting, with the band playing on the elevated covered porch overlooking the beautiful Shark River in Avon by the Sea, NJ, was absolutely picturesque. As the music filled the air, the energy was palpable, and everyone danced the night away on the bluestone patio below. Each member of the band brought their unique talent to the stage, creating a harmonious blend of sounds that kept the crowd moving. Chuck Conlin's guitar skills were nothing short of extraordinary, while Eileen Meara's vocals were simply mesmerizing. Andy Magerowsky's bass guitar added a powerful depth to the music, and Bill Waldron's guitar expertise was the perfect complement to the ensemble. The diverse range of songs they played was a testament to their versatility and musical prowess. From the timeless classics of the British Invasion era to the energetic hits of the 80s, they covered it all. The transition from the Romantics to the Rolling Stones was seamless, and they flawlessly moved through genres, paying tribute to legends like Jefferson Airplane, Led Zeppelin, Janis Joplin, CCR, Lynyrd Skynyrd, and more. But they didn't stop there! Jersey Surecats Band took us on a journey through the 90s, delivering powerful renditions of songs by Pink, Pearl Jam, and Foo Fighters. The Motown and Disco hits had everyone grooving, and their rendition of modern favorites by the Lumineers, Jason Mraz, and Adele showcased their ability to stay current while honoring the classics. What truly set them apart was their dedication to ensuring everyone had an incredible time. They graciously agreed to stay overtime, playing an additional hour because nobody could resist the infectious beats. Not a single person sat down the entire evening, a testament to the band's ability to keep the party alive! Jersey Surecats Band's performance was nothing short of spectacular. If you're looking for a band that can cater to diverse musical tastes and deliver an unforgettable experience, look no further. I can't recommend them highly enough. Thank you, Jersey Surecats Band, for making this celebration one for the books!"

"The walls of Lord Nelsons have heard their share of bands, but on the night Escape took the stage, they practically vibrated with raw, unfiltered energy. This five-piece rock outfit doesn’t just play music—they command the crowd with a force that feels almost elemental. "

"Sunset River is a rockin’ Party Band. They play Classic Rock we all grew up with, and they do it real well. Lisa, Jeff, Kirby, and Clint keep the dance floor busy and rightfully so. Check them out, or hire them for a party. You’ll be glad you did. "

"There’s more to Johnny Ticktin than meets the eye. Well-versed in the blues, having once served as lead guitar player for the legendary Louisiana Red, the open-minded Ticktin is a sponge, soaking up the subtle six-string nuances and intricacies of a multitude of genres—from surf to classic R&B, swing and even Mambo—on his eighth album with The Headhunters, That’s All I Need. It would feel right at home in any rough-and-tumble roadhouse. The title is borrowed from a song, covered here in all its dark, swampy glory, off Magic Sam’s 1967 iconic electric blues marvel West Side Soul. Watery, backwoods ripples of Sam’s tremolo guitar style and seductive rhythms meander through Creedence Clearwater Revival’s mysterious kudzu on Johnny & The Headhunters’ version, as Ticktin and company paddle up a lazy river of Bayou groove. Just as fluent in nasty rockabilly, they thrive in the sweltering heat of the 1957 obscurity “Chicken House,” giving it a warm buzz and making it rumble and swagger, while the lascivious, infectious funk of “Body and Fender” – a Doc Pomus/Duke Robillard joint originally built for soul crooner Johnny Adams – shakes all over and ogles the female form. A rousing, boogie-woogie version of Lowell Fulsom’s Chess Records’ hit “Rock ‘Em Dead” is wonderfully shambolic, and Ticktin rides the lightning of the Link Wray instrumental “Ace of Spaces” like a champ, gleefully wheeling through edgy garage-rock riffs with appropriate vim and vigor. What feel he and his band have for this material. There is not the slightest bit of indifference to it anywhere on this record. Not that they need it, but help arrives in the form of keyboardist Tam Sullivan, who wraps smoky, sensual organ and wraiths of piano around a soulful remake of Bobby “Blue” Bland’s “Lead Me On,” and singer Liz Springer, who joins her brazen vocals to Ticktin’s in the cheeky, but charming, duet “Watch and Chain.” And, with the solid machinery of a good backing band at work behind him, Ticktin can just let loose – witness the slide-guitar fury of their cover of Elmore James’ “Shake Your Money Maker.” For aficionados of tasteful guitar work and music that time shouldn’t have forgotten, this is what you need. —Peter Lindblad SPREAD THE NEWS!
