"Last summer, we were delighted with the performance of saxophonist / clarinettist Rory and pianist exploring the music of George Gershwin. This summer, Rory enchanted the audience with his fusion of acoustic Latin with Brazilian music, jazz and soul and the arrangements were tastefully orchestrated with guitar and percussion. It made for an engaging performance. We hope to have him back again soon!"

"What a great group of musicians On 30 June, we had a fantastic celebration for our 40th wedding anniversary. Everything was perfect: the location, the weather, the food, the people, and the music. What a great group of musicians you sent—we received compliments from all sides. Not only was the music excellent, but the way they approached it was perfect: they arrived, found a good spot, set up quietly without anyone really noticing, and then started playing beautifully. No fuss or showmanship—just playing perfectly at the right volume. Thank you, the music truly contributed to making the celebration a success. "

"Let’s face it. Music soothes, heals, excites, entertains and inspires. Legendary Jazz Drummer and Bandleader, Art Blakey even said “(it) washes away the dust of everyday life.” I’ll go with that. That very moment when any artist starts to sing or play, is critical. We all want to be entertained, not just played to. And one more observation, if they look like they’re having fun - I am too. The Jazz Kings performed to a sell-out audience at the Brisbane Jazz Club: they brought their musical goods right through the front door and into our hearts and souls. The key difference is in the delivery. It’s called engagement, the sparkle in their eyes as they share their love of Jazz with everyone in the room. The Jazz Kings' repertoire is wide, impressive and constantly updated. It includes a couple of original pieces, but you can’t quite tell as they are very cleverly cloaked with the fabric of that particular era. What makes their evening different is their cheerful unpredictability. Not every song has each person doing an instrumental. (Which often can be tedious.) Two tunes might even be performed one after another without a formal introduction. Look out for some gentle fun inclusion with the audience – that’s the chance to sing along. It’s an old-fashioned but proven concept that has you laughing – and wondering where the night went. All-in-all, a thoroughly entertaining night. I’d go again. And again!"

"Sticks and Stone played a fantastic concert of our school. I am the Music Specialist at a K-4 school and this group had everyone engaged, bobbing along in their seats, learning, and enjoying the incredible sounds from the marimba. The musicians interacted so incredibly with the students, staff, and guests. It was a blast for everyone! I highly recommend Sticks and Stone for any school program, or any other type of event. They are spectacular! "

For our 50th anniversary, we were looking for an elegant jazz band, and this all-round Jazz Quartet exceeded our expectations. The communication beforehand was smooth and clear, which immediately gave us a reassuring feeling in the run-up to our event. On the day itself, the band members arrived well ahead of time at the Atomium—professional and well prepared. Their performance, in their classy dress code, was atmospheric and musically of a very high standard, striking exactly the right tone for this festive occasion. The music added an extra touch of class to the evening and was greatly appreciated by all our guests. In short: reliable, professional, and above all musically excellent. Highly recommended for anyone looking for quality live jazz!”"
