Photo of La Dolce Vita Swing Collective La Dolce Vita Swing Collective "Not knowing what to expect I was ready for anything on a warm September night in Edinburgh. This was a Sunday night too and the setting was complete in the nightclub atmosphere that is the Dirty Martini lounge. This band can swing, bass and drums groove sweetly while sax and piano trade solos making this a full sound like there are more on stage. Tony Delicata on vocals blends his Italian roots with Volare, On An Evening In Roma and O Solo Mio as we were escorted to warm Italy with cool sounds and cocktails to suit. The second half opened with I Wish I Knew, an instrumental from the days when Cinema was a TV series before Tony returned with more signature arrangements. By now the audience were itching to dance and with peaks like Mack The Knife and (Theme From) New York New York they were at one with the band. The closing title song was a creative masterstroke and a deserved ovation followed." Sadly for me, the funerals of my husband and father happened in succession all to quickly over the next two years. Sarah provided all occasions with such grace. We worked together to create something very special. Nothing is too much trouble for Sarah, she was able to suggest music from repertoire but also took on music she did not know, and sang all beautifully. Her voice and presence was a rock to me and everyone commented on the beauty of her voice. I would highly recommend Sarah for all occasions - happy, sad, fun, solemn and she will deliver a bespoke service. I remain deeply grateful to know Sarah and now call her a friend!" Your music was brilliant, got everyone up dancing and I can’t tell you how many people told me afterwards ‘how brilliant the 1920s band were’. As soon as you played your first song I knew we’d struck gold! It couldn’t have been more perfect given the whole Gatsby theme and everyone so dressed up, so thank you all so much. You may be interested to know that we raised an astonishing £7,000 on the night! With just 96 people in the room…amazing! Thanks again Matthew and I’ll not hesitate to recommend you if anyone should ask me for a fabulous 20’s Jazz Band!" Based in Bury, England (166 miles from Edinburgh) Paul Reynolds - My FizzyPop UK Photo of The L A Jazz Band The L A Jazz Band "Following a huge achievement of winning a prestigious industry award, we arranged for a secret day of celebrations for our 100 employees at our offices. We arranged for the LA Jazz Band to kick off the celebrations by entering our office playing the most energetic and uplifting music which was a wonderful surprise to staff who eagerly jumped up out of their seats to follow the marching band and dance their way around the office. The place was 'buzzing' everyone LOVED it. We had numerous surprises for everyone but the LA Jazz band was by far the highlight and what people remember the most about the day. They are fantastic. You can't help but get up on your feet and dance along. We will definitely be hiring them again for future events - we can't wait for them to play for us again! These guys were absolutely incredible! Words can’t describe! We hired the NQBB for our wedding back in October and we think it was the best wedding decision we made! Will was super through all stages of the process, from enquiries before booking, through to set list selections and sorting out logistics, he was so friendly, with excellent communication and always had time to answer our queries. On the day itself they arrived in plenty of time to set up and you could tell the guests were getting excited for what was to come. It was what we were most looking forward to about the day and it more than exceeded our expectations! What was wonderful was seeing everyone dancing - all the generations. They are such amazing performers and so engaging getting all on the dance floor involved! Our guests are still raving about ‘THE band’ and rightly so! Thank you so much NQBB, you most certainly made the day!" Based in Manchester, England (175 miles from Edinburgh) Pip J - Wedding
