Move Over Dali
"A VERY IMPRESSIVE PERFORMANCE
ON THEIR DEBUT PERFORMANCE,
Certainly left an impact,
Plenty of happy dancing going on
Everyone were well pleased with the choice of songs, not heavy rock, a band with a definite commitment to music,
CONGRATULATIONS TO THEM, AND EVERYONE THAT MADE THE EVENING THE SUCCESS THAT IT WAS"
Harmonica Lewinsky & The Highway Patrol
"Last night I met up with some pals down at the very hospitable Mermaid Inn to check out the latest musical venture of the great Harmonica Lewinsky.
We’ve always been highly entertained by his music hall/cockney act and indeed his 60s/70s cover material, but this was to be something of a completely different flavour – a country/ western swing experience!
Launching into ‘Glendale Train’, Lewinsky and his band, The Highway Patrol, soon had the place rocking. The sound of finger pickin’ Dzal Martin’s Telecaster was the perfect accompaniment and upright bass player Ewan Penkey’s rhythm proved that no drummer was required.
As well as rockers such as ‘Panama Red’, ‘Folsom Prison Blues’ and the brilliant tongue-twisting ‘Hot Rod Lincoln’, Lewinsky and the boys were also able to deliver truly 'hurtin' & heartbreaking' melancholy classics such as Warren Zevon’s ‘Carmelita’ and Kenny Rogers’ ‘Ruby’.
Their touching version of Commander Cody’s ‘Seeds & Stems Blues’, featuring the wonderful pedal-steel guitar playing of John Davis, (who had been impeccable all evening) had me almost crying into my pretzels.
Personality and humour has always been an important part of Harmonica Lewinsky’s act and, with his usual banter and rapport, he certainly didn’t let us down. We particularly enjoyed the tongue-in cheek ‘All My Exes Live in Texas’.
Thanks for a great night, boys – we look forward to the next time."
The Kopy Katz (Rockabilly + Rock & Roll)
"A brilliant night with The Kopy Katz, great music, great fun, and even better company and some new friends. 🎸🔥 At The Queen's Arms Pub"
Spirit Jordache Singer
"Hired to sing one time in our restaurant, now it is a monthly event and it gets better and better. From soulful music to romantic music to dance music, he can do it all. His passion is felt by everyone in the audience. Can’t get enough of Spirit and his spirit. Incredible singer"
The Country Rocks Band
"The Country Rocks band were insane! They had everyone up on the dancefloor all night, absolutely loved their set and they definitely made our wedding! The highlight of the evening for sure, thanks to Chloe and the band!"
Owen Morton
"Owen arrived early, was polite and sang amazing country songs going above and beyond to sing songs that were requested from Jackson Dean to Max McNown, as well as the brilliant classics. I would highly recommend Owen and we have already booked him for my partners 60th."
