Photo of Annasach Ceilidh Band Annasach Ceilidh Band "The Annasach Ceilidh Band made the evening of our wedding in The Netherlands unforgettable, motivating Dutch and French feet alike to dance the Scottish steps. Even my 62-year-old aunt was on her feet all evening and remarked at the end that from now on, she only wants Scottish weddings. The band also dealt very professionally with some unforeseen circumstances, rebooking their own flights when their original flights were cancelled, taking a lot of stress away from us. I will happily recommend them for any wedding or party in Scotland or abroad, and look forward to visiting one of their Ceilidhs in Edinburgh when we next find ourselves there!" Based in Edinburgh, Scotland Barbara - Wedding Photo of Rock Ceilidh Band Rock Ceilidh Band "Thank you . It was such a great night and the dancing was great. I loved that we opened the doors at the end ( for the amount of dancers that got up for the Strip the Willow). I think we might need a bigger venue next year it was such a success. The band was fabulous, I'll be keeping you in mind for other gigs." Based in Bathgate, Scotland (18 miles from Edinburgh) M Abbott - Ceilidh Photo of Bob Ferguson Songwriter Bob Ferguson Songwriter "We all had an amazing night, all the sailors loved your performance and it really made a massive difference to the night, it really brightened up the spirits of everyone and made it a night to remember, extremely worth it and a very fair price. Keep in touch bob." Also really great communication before the ceilidh, together meant my daughter had a party to remember." Everyone I have spoken to really enjoyed the evening and I thought the atmosphere in the hall was very energetic!" Frequently asked questions

Pricing for ceilidh bands ranges from £180 to £1,100+, with an average of £500. Rates depend on the number of musicians, performance length and whether the band provides a caller to guide dancers through the steps. Most ceilidh bands include a caller as standard, but it is worth confirming when comparing options.

A ceilidh is a traditional social gathering featuring folk music and group dancing. The ceilidh bands for hire provide lively folk music and typically include a caller who guides guests through each dance. No prior dance experience is needed, as the caller explains every step before the music begins.

Events that commonly feature ceilidh bands include weddings, Burns Night celebrations, birthday parties, corporate team-building events and festivals. Ceilidh dancing is inclusive and energetic, making it an excellent way to get all guests involved regardless of age or dancing ability.

Most ceilidh bands need a clear dance floor area large enough for guests to form lines, circles and sets. A space of around 10 by 10 metres works well for most group sizes. The band itself needs a small stage or performance area at one end. It is worth discussing space requirements based on your expected guest numbers.
