Solo guitar works at almost every point of an event, from ceremony music and drinks receptions through to relaxed evening sets. Before requesting quotes, it helps to decide where live music sits in your day: quiet background playing during food, a featured moment such as a first dance, or both. That decision shapes the set list, the equipment a performer brings and the price you are quoted.
A typical booking covers two 45-minute sets or three 40-minute sets with breaks in between, though most performers will adjust timings to fit around speeches, courses and other entertainment. For drinks receptions, many guitarists play longer, lighter sets at background volume; for evening slots, expect shorter and more energetic performances. Agree the running order in advance and decide who will cue the performer on the day, so timing changes reach them quickly.
Indoor setups are simple: a chair, a small clear area and a nearby socket cover most performances. Outdoor ceremonies and garden parties need more thought. Ask whether the performer can bring a battery amplifier or play fully acoustic where there is no power, check noise policies and finish times with your venue before booking an amplified evening set, and make sure there is somewhere dry and shaded for both the performer and the instrument.
Guitar players in Mudgee mostly quote per set rather than per hour, starting from about $170 for a single instrumental set, with typical bookings around $550 and singer-guitarists bringing their own PA reaching $1,650+. Longer performances, weekend and peak-season dates, and sets that include vocals all push quotes up. When comparing quotes, check what each includes: amplification, travel and time to learn requested songs are sometimes itemised separately. Booking ceremony and reception music with the same performer often costs less than hiring two separate acts.
The average price for Guitarists available in Mudgee, New South Wales, Australia is $550 (AUD). Above you will also find a budget price and high end price. Contact the supplier you like for an accurate quote.

Vale Acoustic
"We cannot thank Matt and Steve enough for being such a huge part of our wedding day. From start to finish, they were incredible, professional, fun, and so in tune with the energy of the room. Their live performances were absolutely beautiful and added such a personal touch to the ceremony and reception. And when it was time to hit the dance floor, they had everyone up and celebrating all night long!
So many of our guests commented on how amazing the music was, and honestly, we couldn’t agree more. Steve and Matt helped create such a fun and relaxed atmosphere, and it truly wouldn’t have been the same without them. If you’re looking for musicians who genuinely care and know how to bring the perfect vibe to your day these are your guys!"

He did a great job of learning the song and tailoring it to the event. It made the turning point of the surprise calling her name out, which made for a great photo moment. I'd definitely use him again in any event."
