Solo guitar works at almost every point of an event, from ceremony music and drinks receptions through to relaxed evening sets. Before requesting quotes, it helps to decide where live music sits in your day: quiet background playing during food, a featured moment such as a first dance, or both. That decision shapes the set list, the equipment a performer brings and the price you are quoted.
A typical booking covers two 45-minute sets or three 40-minute sets with breaks in between, though most performers will adjust timings to fit around speeches, courses and other entertainment. For drinks receptions, many guitarists play longer, lighter sets at background volume; for evening slots, expect shorter and more energetic performances. Agree the running order in advance and decide who will cue the performer on the day, so timing changes reach them quickly.
Indoor setups are simple: a chair, a small clear area and a nearby socket cover most performances. Outdoor ceremonies and garden parties need more thought. Ask whether the performer can bring a battery amplifier or play fully acoustic where there is no power, check noise policies and finish times with your venue before booking an amplified evening set, and make sure there is somewhere dry and shaded for both the performer and the instrument.
Guitar players in Sechelt mostly quote per set rather than per hour, starting from about $170 for a single instrumental set, with typical bookings around $550 and singer-guitarists bringing their own PA reaching $1,600+. Longer performances, weekend and peak-season dates, and sets that include vocals all push quotes up. When comparing quotes, check what each includes: amplification, travel and time to learn requested songs are sometimes itemised separately. Booking ceremony and reception music with the same performer often costs less than hiring two separate acts.
The average price for Guitarists available in Sechelt, British Columbia, Canada is $550 (CAD). Above you will also find a budget price and high end price. Contact the supplier you like for an accurate quote.

Jennifer Moersch, Cellist & Ensembles
"Jennifer was great! Extremely patient with me and the last minute changes, came on time, played beautifully and left a great impression on all the attendees. I will definitely recommend her if anyone ever needs a cellist in Vancouver."
Michael.C
"I hired Michael to play guitar at both public and private events numerous times and he’s always prepared and did a good job!"
Sons of Granville
"We hired them for our employee awards gala. The music was lovely. Everyone enjoyed it and raved about it. They added a touch of class to the evening"
John Gilliat Spanish Guitar
"We had John play at my birthday party with around 30 guests. His totally masters his repertoire and his music is beautiful! But what we liked even more is that John is not a prima donna who wants to be the star performer: despite him being a top pro, he’s happy to play in the background and provide atmosphere. He made my party complete without imposing himself and everybody was very impressed."

"Barry performed at The Notorious Grey Fox Taps & Patio, and the crowd really enjoyed his music. Thank you, Barry, for a great evening!"
Mark Hildebrand
"It was treat to see Mark perform at the Sumner festival I attended. He is clearly dedicated to his craft and his hard work shows through in his skill. His guitar playing in particular is second to none. I also thoroughly enjoyed his honest and inclusive approach to other performers. His great talent and lack of ego are utterly refreshing."
