Live jazz groups bring a polished, adaptable sound to weddings and events near you. These professional musicians handle everything from soft background music during dinner to high-energy dance sets, adjusting their repertoire and volume to suit your venue and occasion. Most jazz acts offer flexible lineup sizes, so a trio that plays your cocktail hour can expand to a quintet or larger group for the evening.
The most popular format is a three or four-piece jazz group for wedding receptions and corporate functions, with a classic combination of piano or guitar, bass, drums and sometimes saxophone or vocals. Smaller duos work well for ceremonies and intimate settings, while larger ensembles with brass and dedicated vocalists suit bigger venues and dance-focused events. Many jazz musicians locally also offer themed sets, including 1920s Gatsby-era jazz, bossa nova, and modern pop songs rearranged in a swing style.
Jazz bands in Groningen currently range from €170 for smaller ensembles to €2,000+ for larger groups or extended performances, with an average booking cost of €600. Price typically reflects the number of musicians, set length, travel requirements, and any custom arrangements. Trios and quartets offer good value for most events, while full big band setups command a higher fee but deliver a richer, more dynamic sound.

"We had an amazing experience with this band! They were professional, punctual, and incredibly talented. Their performance created the perfect atmosphere, and our guests couldn’t stop talking about how great the music was. They were easy to work with, adapted well to the event, and exceeded our expectations. We highly recommend them to anyone looking for outstanding live entertainment and would gladly hire them again for future events!”"
Marcella Jones & Brown Liquor Band
"I've seen them perform twice and they put on a great show! They have not disappointed. The lead singer, Marcella, is a lot of fun."
NoNi Trio
Vivian Perez & Luz D’ Habana
"Luz D’Habana played two stunning sets at our wedding! The first was a stripped back lounge set on the terrace post-ceremony, the second was a full band set after dinner which had all of our guests up and dancing from the first moment until the last. The quality of the musicianship was so high, it surpassed all of our expectations. The band were incredibly easy to communicate with, and everything ran very smoothly. I highly recommend booking them if you can!"
