Photo of Yuval Agam Yuval Agam "We were in need of a Saxophone player to play along side of us (we're a DJ Company) for a wedding last weekend (09/26) and I came upon Yuval here on Gig Salad. Prior to booking he was responsive in communicating. The day of the event just so happened to be a Nor'Easter on the Jersey Shore but that didn't stop anyone. Yuval made it a point to arrive early and get situated with us. Once the event started, he was amazing. His talent on the Saxophone is unmatched and his energy during the event was equally as amazing. 10/10, I would highly recommend him!" An unmissable, immersive experience!" My previous role as the PK-12 Music Coordinator for the Enfield Public School District has brought me in direct contact with the professional, innovative, creative, and artistic musician and retired teacher Mr. Vincent Cassotta. I have witnessed first-hand the impact and quality of his quality music instruction provided for his thirty-nine years of teaching tenure in our community. To have the opportunity to bring the genre of American Jazz Music as a tribute to the legend of Louis Armstrong with quality professional musicians under Mr. Cassotta’s organization is a blessing to the young minds and ears of our elementary students, especially at a time when music education in Enfield offers less opportunities. This past Spring I had the opportunity to guest speak at Mr. Cassotta’s retirement party celebrating his many years of service in music education. In that speech I spoke about multiple areas beyond the collegial and professional relationship Mr. Cassotta, and I achieved since 1999. These in my opinion provide strong evidence for the Enfield Cultural Council to support this mission of this application fiscally. One of the points shared was that Mr. Cassotta balanced his career of music education and professional trumpet performing with incredible success throughout his career. Aside from the technical, logistical and time management responsibilities from such an endeavor, he achieved this success with never letting go of the care demonstrated to his students, family members, school building staff, and his music professional colleagues. The fact that he desires to continue to expand the music opportunities to students in Enfield now in his retirement resting years is evidence of his dedication to this art form and willingness to always educate. Furthermore Mr. Cassotta’s wealth of experience professionally as a performing musician and student of the trumpet is stellar. In his education Mr. Cassotta studied trumpet with Rolf Smedvig of the Boston Symphony Orchestra and Empire Brass Quintet, Jimm Maxwell a NYC Studio Musician, Roger Murtha of the Hartford Symphony and Hartt School of Music, and Dan Patrylak of the Eastman Brass Quintet and UCONN. To continue, Mr. Cassotta was a freelance performer with Frank Sinatra, Manhattan Transfer, Ella Fitzgerald, Bobby Vinton, Bob Hope, The Four Tops, Phil Woods, The Temptations, Sammy Davis Jr., Andy Williams, Franki Valli and the Jimmy and Tommy Dorsey Orchestra. Including numerous local and state pit orchestra’s and local well know jazz bands. He has also published works as a composer and arranger with KJOS music as well as multiple professional recordings. I strongly urge you to consider Mr. Cassotta’s application for this grant. Your support will help impact music education in Enfield and continue to make a meaningful impact on the lives of its students. Thank you for considering this recommendation. Sincerely, Mark F. Outstanding musicians and performers. Will definitely hire again." Based in Bridgeport, Connecticut (138 miles from Boston) Jose Colon - Private Event Photo of John Anthony Ferrer John Anthony Ferrer "I have hired John Anthony Ferrer to entertain my sorority reunion guests at the Bean Runner Cafe. Is amazing guitar playing as well as classic songs and popular pop tunes. John's hand the guitar really comes alive as well as the songs he plays. John is a real Rock Star, playing tunes from the Jazz era and then switching to the Pop songs of the last few decades. Then playing Blues before going into some romantic Bossa Nova. I also hired him to host and play guitar for 2022 New York Miss Teen pageant contestants. It wasn't long before he had the beautiful young ladies dancing and singing to the songs he played. A highlight to their busy schedule. To sum it up, John Anthony Ferrer's guitar wizardry will amaze you." Frequently asked questions

Hiring Latin jazz bands typically costs between $190 and $2,450+, with an average of $650. The price depends on the number of musicians, performance duration and the instruments in the line-up. Latin jazz groups feature a blend of jazz improvisation with Latin rhythms and percussion, and ensembles with more players naturally cost more.

The Latin jazz bands perform a fusion of jazz with Latin rhythms including Afro-Cuban jazz, bossa nova, samba jazz, salsa and Latin funk. Many bands feature a mix of horns, piano, percussion and vocals that create a sophisticated yet energetic sound.

Many clients book Latin jazz bands for cocktail receptions, corporate events, weddings, private parties, Latin-themed nights and restaurant entertainment. Latin jazz provides an elegant yet lively backdrop that transitions smoothly from background music to dance-floor entertainment.

The Latin jazz bands on Gig Heaven range from duos and trios to larger ensembles with full horn and percussion sections. A smaller group suits intimate settings, while a larger line-up delivers the full Latin jazz experience. Many bands offer flexible sizing depending on the event.

Most Latin jazz bands bring their own instruments and percussion equipment. For standard venues, many bands also provide their own PA system. For larger events, additional sound equipment may be needed. To get the best results, confirm technical requirements with the band.

Most groups work in both modes and will split the evening, keeping the early part light for arrival and dining before moving to the percussive, up-tempo material later. The switch is a matter of repertoire and how densely the line-up plays, rather than volume alone. Agreeing roughly when it happens is enough, as bands prefer to read the room for the exact moment.

Familiar standards arranged over Latin rhythms are the usual way in, so an audience new to the style still recognises much of what it hears. Bands often open with those and move into the traditional repertoire once the room has settled. Anyone wanting one side or the other emphasised should say so, since most groups can weight a set either way.

Percussion takes more floor area than its player count suggests, as congas, timbales and auxiliary instruments each need their own footprint. A full section can occupy as much room as the horns and rhythm players together. Where a stage is tight, groups more often drop a player than crowd the setup, so the line-up quoted may depend on the venue.
