Rates for opera singers in Exeter range from £100 to £850+, with most bookings around £350. Distance is the biggest variable, since a singer travelling two hours for a twenty-minute ceremony prices differently from one performing ten minutes from home. Saturdays through summer and December fill first and carry the least room to negotiate. Booking inside two weeks often costs more rather than less, since the singer has to work rehearsal and travel around a diary already committed elsewhere. Contact the supplier you like for an accurate quote.

Photo of Mehreen Shah - Soprano Mehreen Shah - Soprano "I listened to a number of singers before selecting MEHREEN SHAH to sing at my event. I needed a Soprano but often I hear a slightly thin, high reach which is in tune but not necessarily attractive. Mehreen's voice is sublime. She can reach high notes but her voice is full-bodied and rounded and robust. Rich. A funeral is an emotional time and she sang a classical number - Faure Requiem 'In Paradisum' as well as a show tune from the musical/film The Wizard of Oz, 'Over the Rainbow'. All I can say is that I was lucky to find her." She's an Italian soprano of the old school, and her Puccini interpretations are a must-see. (This review is quoted from Annalisa Vaughan's professional Facebook profile)." Based in Ryde, England (103 miles from Exeter) Kathleen - Professional singer Photo of Caroline Joy Caroline Joy "Caroline is an incredible opera singer, and an absolute pleasure to work with! She went above and beyond!" Based in Ludlow, England (119 miles from Exeter) Greg A Photo of The Italian Tenor The Italian Tenor "Yuri sang at our wedding in May and it really made the occasion incredible. He was extremely approachable and receptive to what we wanted and easily managed 5 songs of very different styles in three languages! He sang so beautifully as I walked up the aisle I started crying immediately. Our guests were wowed. We couldn’t have hoped for better. Thoroughly and happily recommended" Based in Bracknell, England (130 miles from Exeter) 22nd September 2026 Ilan Adler - Wedding Photo of The Duchess The Duchess "Another real (and unexpected) highlight of the White Nights festival was ‘Apotheosis’ at 162 North Street, billed as a ‘performance of voice’ this was undersold as what we actually saw was an explosion of incredibly talented people, projected from a balcony on a stunning dressed and lit building. It promised much, as do a lot of these free festivals shows, but this one delivered. Each hour, three different singers appeared, one after another on the balcony to serenade us with a diverse selection of music, showcasing not just their voices, but also cultural background. I was so impressed with the first show that I went back for two of the others six. Opening the first performance was a series of tolling bells, very low key and then a women, dressed in black with swept up hair and a smile appeared on the balcony, the music struck up and her voice thrilled and echoed off the surrounding buildings as the crowd was pulled in. It was a stunning opening and the singer, Sam Chara received a huge round of applause from the hefty crowd. It’s not easy to both keep and please a crowd at a free festival event, especially with such thick competition only steps away, but this vibrant , young singer charmed and thrilled the crowd with her beautiful, sad and bel-canto rendition of ‘Un bel di’ from Madam Butterfly, I went back for the 10pm show, the crowds knew what to expect by this point, extra stewards had to be drawn in contain the buzzing expectant crowd and once again Sam Chara opening the show with a breathtaking ‘Una voce poco fa’ by Rossini, as the huge red satin banners undulated in the wind under their stark lights, New Road was once again transformed by this young ladies voice into a living outdoor opera set, it was superb performance, technically brilliant and with a verve and passion that was confidently on show. Ten out of ten for this part of the white nights festival," Based in Brighton, England (148 miles from Exeter) 17th March 2026 Erik Page Gscene magazine - White Night Brighton Photo of Denis Ferrer Denis Ferrer "I contacted Denis Ferrer, for my weeding in Hong Kong , he is French speaker and the connection and understanding of what I was feeling and needing was very fast and nice. Since the beginning at the end all wonderful and beautiful for my special day. Merci encore Denis" Based in Surbiton, England (148 miles from Exeter) Pascale Dubois - Wedding / Hong Kong

Frequently asked questions

Hiring opera singers typically costs between £100 and £850+, with an average of £350. Pricing depends on the singer's experience, the length and style of the performance and whether operatic arias, crossover material or a mix of both is required. Opera singers are popular for adding a dramatic, memorable element to ceremonies, corporate events and gala dinners.

Typical bookings for opera singers include wedding ceremonies, gala dinners, corporate events, private parties, charity fundraisers and formal occasions. An opera singer brings a dramatic, emotionally powerful performance that adds a sense of grandeur and occasion.

The opera singers on Gig Heaven perform classical opera arias, crossover pop-opera (such as songs by Andrea Bocelli or Il Divo), musical theatre and popular ballads arranged in an operatic style. Many singers can blend these styles throughout an event.

Most opera singers perform with a pianist, though some work with string ensembles, backing tracks or a harpist. The right accompaniment depends on the venue, budget and formality of the event. It is worth discussing options with the singer when making an enquiry.
