Browse 571 saxophonists in Barrie, Ontario, Canada, rated 5 out of 5 from 2,059 reviews from real clients. Solo sax players, jazz duos and larger ensembles are available for weddings, parties and corporate events, with most bookings coming in around $650 and shorter ceremony sets costing less.
Availability moves fastest at the top of the calendar: peak-season Saturdays and the December party run get taken first, and a saxophonist covering both a ceremony and an evening set will usually hold the whole date rather than half of it. For a date that is already close, it is worth enquiring with more than one act at a time.

Wedding Singers in BarrieA saxophone is one of the easiest live acts to fit into a venue. One musician needs little more than a couple of square metres and a power socket, which makes a sax player workable in rooms that could never take a full band, and in venues with tight load-in access or no stage at all.
Ask the venue two things before confirming: where the nearest socket is, and whether there is a sound limiter. A sax player who brings their own PA still has to plug it in somewhere, and a limiter set low will cut a saxophone before it cuts recorded music, because the instrument is loud at close range and peaks sharply. Outdoors, heat and cold both pull the instrument out of tune, and direct sun on a metal body is genuinely uncomfortable to play, so shade and a dry surface matter more than a stage does. Drinks receptions on a lawn or terrace work well as long as the act has somewhere to stand that will not sink or soak.
Most saxophonists work from a backing track library rather than sheet music, so a request has to exist as a track before it can be played. Three to four weeks is a reasonable lead time for something learned specially, and a first dance or processional is worth confirming earlier still. Send a running order rather than a start time: an act that knows when speeches finish and when the dance floor opens will place its sets around them, instead of playing through the moments people are meant to be listening to.
Rates for saxophonists in Barrie run from $230 to $1,650+, with typical bookings around $650. Check what the figure covers before comparing quotes: PA and setup are usually included, travel may or may not be, and an overtime rate for running past the agreed finish is worth agreeing in writing rather than on the night. Most acts take a deposit to hold the date, with the balance due close to the event, and short notice tends to cost more rather than less, since a free Saturday in peak season is a date someone else has already turned down.

Nathan Sax
"If you're thinking about booking Nathan sax do not hesitate! We had the most wonderful experience. The sound of the saxophone was stunning and completely elevated the whole vibe of the night. Beyond the immense talent, the warmth and energy brought to the performance made it truly unforgettable. Thank you for making our special occasion so memorable!"
Saxophonist Nikita Naymushin
"Nikita was amazing. He was the star of our wedding. People will be talking about his performance for years to come. He got people moving and dancing all night!"
Sabor Latino Band
"We had Sabor Latino perform at my parents’ retirement party, and they EASILY made it one of the best parties of the year!
Being Latino ourselves, I was honestly nervous because the expectations were HIGH… my family loves to dance, and we love all the classic Latin music. But Sabor Latino completely exceeded our expectations! They kept the energy incredible all night, and so many guests told us how amazing they were as they were leaving.
The singer was incredible, and the whole band truly captured the Latin culture, energy, and love of making sure everyone was dancing and having a great time. They also worked seamlessly with our DJ, and communication with Hernan was fantastic from start to finish.
They truly made the night unforgettable, and we couldn’t recommend them enough! ❤️
Thank you Sabor Latino"
JP sax and flute
"Originally we were going to set John up in the lobby to play the cocktail hour at our wedding. Our DJ came up with the idea of him just playing in our main hall instead of being restricted to the lobby and what a great idea that was. John played his heart out! He dressed to impress, he showed up ready to play, he entertained our crowd, his music selection was dead on and he was very easy to communicate with. I would highly recommend him to anyone looking for a fun way to spice up their wedding and incorporate some live music!"
Hemmysax music
"We couldn't have been happier with our saxophone player! He was incredibly professional, punctual, and such a pleasure to work with from start to finish.
When our timeline ran behind on the wedding day, he was extremely accommodating and flexible, which helped take so much stress off our shoulders.
His talent is amazing, our guests couldn't stop talking about how he could play virtually any genre and how incredible he sounded throughout the event.
He was also happy to learn and perform specific songs we requested, which made the experience even more personal and memorable.
The value he brought to our wedding was worth far more than what he charged. His pricing was very reasonable, especially considering the quality of his performance and the atmosphere he created.
Every single one of our guests loved him, and we would recommend him without hesitation to anyone looking to elevate their wedding or special event. Thank you for making our day so unforgettable!"
Myrod Music
"Myrod Music was Epic. From the time I entered the room with him playing I knew I made the right choice of having him at my celebration. He was engaging with the audience. I felt every note he played. After the event I got quite a few query about him and the feedback was all positive. I will definitely use him in any event I am planning.
Thank you Ezekiel for a n amazing evening. May the Lord continue to bless you.🙏🏾"
