For a date that is already close, it is worth enquiring with more than one act at a time.

A saxophone is one of the easiest live acts to fit into a venue. One musician needs little more than a couple of square metres and a power socket, which makes a sax player workable in rooms that could never take a full band, and in venues with tight load-in access or no stage at all.
Ask the venue two things before confirming: where the nearest socket is, and whether there is a sound limiter. A sax player who brings their own PA still has to plug it in somewhere, and a limiter set low will cut a saxophone before it cuts recorded music, because the instrument is loud at close range and peaks sharply. Outdoors, heat and cold both pull the instrument out of tune, and direct sun on a metal body is genuinely uncomfortable to play, so shade and a dry surface matter more than a stage does. Drinks receptions on a lawn or terrace work well as long as the act has somewhere to stand that will not sink or soak.
Most saxophonists work from a backing track library rather than sheet music, so a request has to exist as a track before it can be played. Three to four weeks is a reasonable lead time for something learned specially, and a first dance or processional is worth confirming earlier still. Send a running order rather than a start time: an act that knows when speeches finish and when the dance floor opens will place its sets around them, instead of playing through the moments people are meant to be listening to.
Rates for saxophonists in Haarlem run from €160 to €1,050+, with typical bookings around €400. Check what the figure covers before comparing quotes: PA and setup are usually included, travel may or may not be, and an overtime rate for running past the agreed finish is worth agreeing in writing rather than on the night. Most acts take a deposit to hold the date, with the balance due close to the event, and short notice tends to cost more rather than less, since a free Saturday in peak season is a date someone else has already turned down.

Tommy & James
"For our wedding we were looking for something unique and special. Through friends we were tipped off about Tommy and James. They had just been at a wedding where Tommy and James moved through the room playing the most delicious Jazz-pop music."
Ruud de Vries
"Nothing less than an authentic 10! The performance by DJ and tenor saxophonist Ruud de Vries exceeded more than our expectations, both in terms of the genre of music Ruud played and the quality of it. All our guests (including ourselves) were absolutely thrilled and experienced a fantastic swinging evening, particularly due to his performance. Several of our guests even asked us: 'Where did you actually find him?"
Tom Jacks UNPLUGGED
"Tom was AMAZING!
Super professional and friendly, worked the crowd well and knew when to adapt the music to the atmosphere. We would really love to have Tom at our event again!"
Tal Saxophone
"Mega fun! Very good communication and Tal knew perfectly how to build a fun party! The atmosphere was super fun and he played fun songs! We would recommend Tal saxophonist to everyone it was incredibly fun!"
Egor Tokarev | Jazz Saxophonist
"Egor is a fantastic performer. According to experts, he performs at a very high standard. What’s more, Egor is a lovely person who’s easy to talk to. He really brought our party to life. Highly recommended!!"
Roaming Jazz Trio | Jazz Central Agency
"For our wedding, we engaged the jazz center to provide background music for an elegant dinner (6 p.m., with extended hours!). Besides the speeches, which they neatly anticipate without warning, we enjoyed the non-stop background music. The pieces they play live are simply phenomenal! A brilliant example: a baby started crying, and they immediately responded by mixing "Hush, Little Baby" into the current song. Their flexibility and adaptability are superb. We also booked them for a relatively long period, but there was an overrun, and without any problems, they still had the energy to keep going and finished incredibly strong."
