Browse 683 saxophonists in United Kingdom, rated 5 out of 5 from 2,922 reviews from real clients. Solo sax players, jazz duos and larger ensembles are available for weddings, parties and corporate events, with most bookings coming in around £340 and shorter ceremony sets costing less.
Availability moves fastest at the top of the calendar: peak-season Saturdays and the December party run get taken first, and a saxophonist covering both a ceremony and an evening set will usually hold the whole date rather than half of it. For a date that is already close, it is worth enquiring with more than one act at a time.

A saxophone is one of the easiest live acts to fit into a venue. One musician needs little more than a couple of square metres and a power socket, which makes a sax player workable in rooms that could never take a full band, and in venues with tight load-in access or no stage at all.
Ask the venue two things before confirming: where the nearest socket is, and whether there is a sound limiter. A sax player who brings their own PA still has to plug it in somewhere, and a limiter set low will cut a saxophone before it cuts recorded music, because the instrument is loud at close range and peaks sharply. Outdoors, heat and cold both pull the instrument out of tune, and direct sun on a metal body is genuinely uncomfortable to play, so shade and a dry surface matter more than a stage does. Drinks receptions on a lawn or terrace work well as long as the act has somewhere to stand that will not sink or soak.
Most saxophonists work from a backing track library rather than sheet music, so a request has to exist as a track before it can be played. Three to four weeks is a reasonable lead time for something learned specially, and a first dance or processional is worth confirming earlier still. Send a running order rather than a start time: an act that knows when speeches finish and when the dance floor opens will place its sets around them, instead of playing through the moments people are meant to be listening to.
Rates for saxophonists in United Kingdom run from £120 to £850+, with typical bookings around £340. Check what the figure covers before comparing quotes: PA and setup are usually included, travel may or may not be, and an overtime rate for running past the agreed finish is worth agreeing in writing rather than on the night. Most acts take a deposit to hold the date, with the balance due close to the event, and short notice tends to cost more rather than less, since a free Saturday in peak season is a date someone else has already turned down.

The Cheers
"We booked the Cheers Band for our wedding in Bentley on 12 September 2026, and we honestly couldn’t have made a better choice.
The communication throughout was absolutely spot on. We had the saxophone and acoustic guitar playing during our drinks reception, and everyone was so impressed — it created such a lovely atmosphere.
Later in the evening, the band performed as a six-piece, and they certainly got everyone up on the dancefloor! The energy was fantastic, and they really helped make our wedding evening so memorable.
We can’t thank Ben and the whole band enough for everything. They were brilliant from start to finish, and we would highly recommend the Cheers Band to anyone looking for an amazing wedding/function band!

SaxoPhoney Michael
"Michael was amazing, and there was soooo much choice to choose from! It was smooth from the get go, from booking Michael to then all the communication etc.. All of our wedding guests and us really really enjoyed the music, we had so many people tell us how amazing it was and how it just set the tone for after our ceremony whilst having drinks outside listening to the music. I am soooo sooo glad I came across Michael and picked him to play at our wedding. Thank you so much! We highly recommend Michael! 5 stars! ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️⭐️⭐️"
Cecil Jones CJ
"We honestly couldn’t recommend Cecil enough! He was absolutely brilliant and made our wedding day even more special. The saxophone brought such an amazing atmosphere and energy to the day, and our guests loved it.
Cecil was professional, friendly and incredibly talented, and the music was perfect for the occasion. We’ve had so many compliments from our guests about how good he was.
Thank you so much, Cecil, for helping make our wedding day so memorable. Would 100% recommend to anyone looking for a saxophonist for their special occasion! 🎷🙌🏾"
Evie Ingles
"I booked Evie as a wedding surprise for my husband and family, and she was spectacular! She even travelled all the way to Buxton for our special day. Nobody else knew I had booked her, as she worked closely and secretly with just me ahead of time to plan the perfect surprise. Together, we custom-curated a setlist of songs that are incredibly close to our hearts. This required her to learn music she had never even heard of before, including a beautiful version of our first dance and the song from my in-laws' own wedding first dance. This made the performance deeply personal to us. Her performance, combining gorgeous singing with solo sax segments, was a massive hit and got everyone dancing. We received so many compliments from our guests, and she helped create a truly special memory for our family. We all loved her!"
Shirani Sax
"Shirani played at our wedding two weeks ago from start to finish she was brilliant. She kept in contact prior to the wedding ensuring we were able to have our choice of music played at the wedding especially our first dance . She was on time and the whole duration all our guests really enjoyed her performance and gave really good feedback. Her music on the Saxaphone was outstanding and we would highly recommend her and use her again in the future . Friendly, respectful and very professional. Thank you so much."
