Live wedding bands bring an energy to evening receptions that playlists cannot match. Professional groups near you are experienced at working with local venues, managing sound levels for different room sizes, and keeping guests of all ages dancing. Most acts perform two or three sets of around 45 minutes, with DJ music filling the breaks, and offer extras like acoustic ceremony performances or learning your first dance song.
Start by matching band size to your venue. Duos and trios suit smaller or more intimate spaces, while four to six-piece lineups fill larger reception rooms with a fuller sound. Check demo videos to make sure the band's energy and style match the atmosphere you want. It is also worth asking about the full package: most professional acts include PA equipment, lighting, and MC services as standard, but ceremony music, extended sets, and additional musicians may be priced separately. Bands based near your venue often offer more competitive rates due to lower travel costs.
For Wedding bands in Preston, fees run from £170 to £2,300+, with an average cost of £750. Band size is the biggest factor in pricing, followed by performance duration and time of year. Peak season dates from late spring through early autumn tend to carry higher rates, while midweek or off-season bookings can stretch your budget further. Ask about package deals if you want ceremony music or a late-night DJ set alongside the main performance.
The average price for Wedding Bands available in Preston, England, United Kingdom is £750 (GBP). Above you will also find a budget price and high end price. Contact the supplier you like for an accurate quote.

Relative Cool
"We thought Relative Cool were absolutely brilliant when they played at our wedding. The vocalist was fabulous! The 3 sets filled the whole evening and definitely had everyone up dancing. I also really appreciated little things like the singer chatting with one of the kids while they had a break between sets. They were thoroughly professional throughout. We spoke to Tom before the evening and he was always really responsive with messages. We would definitely recommend them and thank you very much for making it a great evening!"
The Funtime Frankies
"Amazing from start to finish - talented, fun, energetic, feel good - you just want to dance! Have played at a few functions for us and would definitely want them to entertain us again in the future! 9 Piece - Awesome!!!"
That 80s Thing
"We booked That 80's Thing for our 40th work celebration.
They were fantastic and had everyone up dancing to 80's tunes we all knew.
Would book again"
Mustard
"Absolutely incredible band! We booked for our wedding with request for our first dance and they smashed it completely! They gave our day the best possible vibe and got every single person up on their feet! Cannot recommend more, they were just brilliant!"
The Distance
"Soph & Matt played for our wedding in September and were absolutely fantastic! Not only did they include songs we had requested for the playlist but knew how to play perfectly for the crowd. All guests loved them, from our 5 year old cousins and friends in their twenties to parents and my 80 year old nan-in-law. The dance floor was never empty - I can testify that all dancers never stopped moving. I want to thank Soph & Matt for making our wedding reception, it was truly amazing and guests are still talking about them nearly 5 months on. An awesome wedding band!"
Electric Moonlight
"I booked Total Affect for a festival-themed garden party - Wendfest ! If classic rock is what you are after then these are the guys to book. They were playing outside in the garden under two gazebos. Highly recommended!"
