We are Labuta Collective, a musical project based in Porto, with the goal of bringing the highest quality live music and entertainment to an audience as wide as possible, across a diverse and equally particular range of settings, including Weddings, Private Events, Hotels, Restaurants and Bars, Cultural Venues, among others.
We have already built and developed an extensive musical repertoire, particularly within the Jazz, Samba, Bossa-Nova, Soul, R&B and Pop genres — if requested, we would be happy to share our reference playlists for each one of these musical genres and aesthetics.
We are committed to adapting and preparing each performance according to a) the specific context in which it takes place, as well as b) the requirements of each engagement and contract/request.
We would also like to highlight that our core formation is a Quartet [Vocals, Guitar, Bass and Drums]. However, we frequently expand this formation [Quartet + Horn Section/Single Horn Player], or reduce it to a Duo [Vocals and Guitar], depending on the proposals and requests we receive.
We commit ourselves to providing the highest possible levels of professionalism, responsibility and versatility across all our musical and artistic services and endeavors.

Somos Labuta Collective um projeto musical sediado no Porto, com o objetivo de trazer música e entretenimento ao vivo de alta qualidade ao mais amplo público possível, em contextos tão diversos quanto específicos (Casamentos; Eventos Privados; Hotéis; Restaurantes e Bares; e Espaços Culturais; entre outros).
Já explorámos e construímos um amplo reportório de música, particularmente dentro do Jazz, Samba, Bossa-Nova, Soul, R&B e Pop – caso se adeque, podemos partilhar as nossas playlists de referência em cada um destes géneros musicais.

Typically, we as a band bring all of our equipment.
However, certain situations make that more difficult, particularly when playing in larger venues, or traveling longer distances.
In these situations, we would appreciate if the hiring venue could provide us with a PA system, Backline, Extra Music Stands, Microphones for Horn Section (when applicable), Microphone Stands, and a Full/Partial Drum Kit.
We would like to know the 1) stage dimensions of the venue, 2) acoustics and sound conditions, 3) technical equipment available to be provided.
We don't bring lighting equipment to our gigs, only the required sound equipment
Our services generally only include live music performances.
The best gigs we've ever done were wedding ceremonies in the Douro Valley Region of Portugal, both because of the conditions provided, the attentive audiences, and the seamless blending of stunning views with our musical work space.
Large Corporate or Private Events where a Horn Section is requested are always the most fun kinds of events for us. However, smaller and more intimate settings can also be quite fun and special.
All members and official collaborators of Labuta Collective are professional musicians, with extensive gigging careers. That being said, the project began out of the friendship and common professional goals shared by the 4 founding members (Susana Pais - Vocals, Martim Godinho - Guitar, Duarte Júlio - Bass, Sandro Coelho - Drums).
Finding a common and agreeable choice between all of the working members of our group proves to be a somewhat difficult task, but we all agree that Stevie Wonder and Aretha Franklin are the two greatest and most influencial artists and musicians for us as a band.
Usually we preform from one to three 1h sets, with 10/15 min breaks in between. If required, we may alter that to accommodate your needs and requests.
We love playing outside, all we ask if for power supply, and some shade to protect ourselves and our instruments from excessive sunlight and heat.
We have a wide selection of music and genres that clients can pick from, ranging from Jazz, Samba, Bossa-Nova, R&B, Soul, Pop a Rock. We are happy to privately provide our reference playlists within these genres.
We accept special requests, but if clients discriminate no particular preferences, we tend to decide a balanced and varied set list for each one of our performances, taking into account the type of venue and setting.
