Hi, I live in Bristol/UK and play saxophones - all 4 main ones. Also a little flute and blues harp
I have been playing some time, and have a lot of experience - in bands, improvising, reading, recording, teaching,...getting to gigs on time with a black shirt...soloing, listening, being a good team player...playing solo or in sections...lots of stuff. Reading pretty well. Making it sound good without dots...lots of stuff
Style wise, I would first go for rock/rock n roll/blues/funk/soul/reggae/calypso...I would add big band jazz, I would add faking jazz pretty well even if not a jazz geek...I would add Klezmer with my accordion friend. I wouldn't include classical.
I have done Lots of gigs, lots of recordings, lots (and lots) of miles. At the beginning of the month I had 10 things I did with 9 bands in 10 days - gigs/recording session/rehearsals, etc So I do lots of stuff.
Anyway, I do gig, I do sessions, I sometimes do solo stuff - in fact recently I've had quite a few. For instance playing a wedding or birthday with backing tracks, or jamming with the DJ at Dirty Martini and others. I can't do everything (unlike my friend A--- L--------), but what I do do I do do very well.

I usually play unamplified alto sax with backing tracks through a small speaker, so I need a space to set up in, and a power supply. If I'm jamming with a DJ or going through the house PA with a clip on mic I need to access their mixer and set up.
Not lighting. Small sound equipment for solo spot.
I could provided a playlist (not very loud or disco like), but usually there's a DJ or band also which can provide. If I'm doing 2 couple background music sets there usually wouldn't been need for in between music.
Sometimes I'm asked to play an hour, sometimes 2 with a break, sometimes even more - with breaks :-) Often there might be a drinks reception in one room, and something later in another - as long as there's time to move/set up/prepare.
Outside is fine - if there's cover (in case...), power supply, etc.
II usually play light jazzy and poppy stuff. Sometimes a little more upbeat , Ibiza type stuff./ I always offer to do a song or two or three a client may want, but I never promise - in case it doesn't work out, I can't get a backing track, it's too off my radar etc.
