Review Centre: One Man Bands

"I hired Matthew for my 50th birthday party and am so pleased that I did - he was exactly what I was looking for! I selected him on the basis of the quality that I saw on the website, and felt that he was even better in person. Being somewhat fussy, I was apprehensive about finding someone who could meet my needs, but Matthew suggested that we had a meeting before my event and we chatted through my ideas and preferences - as well as the things that I did not want! I came away feeling that he understood me and that we had connected, which was incredibly reassuring, and I was not let down on the night. Matthew is an incredibly talented singer and guitarist - recreating songs in a way that not only reflects the original, but often putting his own twist onto them in a way that keeps them fresh and interesting. His use of the loop pedal was particularly impressive! It was of note that so many of my guests commented on how good he was - they had a great time and really got into the swing of things as he gradually turned up the tempo and got everyone dancing. In doing so, he took requests, interacted with the crowd, showed a good sense of humour and came across as a fun, friendly and approachable guy. He played a wide range of songs, all of which reflected our discussion beforehand, with a great balance between those you might expect at a party and some 'surprises' that may be less common but worked equally well - if not better! I would definitely hire Matthew again, and would recommend him to pretty much anyone: he has a list of nearly 500 songs to choose from, and has a strict policy of not having a 'usual' setlist - instead preferring to engage in a discussion of what you'd like, so would be able to cater for all tastes - even mine! "I attended an event where Rick was playing and he was fantastic. He read the crowd really well and kept everyone entertained. Highly recommend booking him for any events. He arrived early to run through the set list and took requests throughout the night. Very impressed."

"I have seen Dave perform a couple times a winery , so entertaining!! He has a large variety and genre of songs, if you are looking for something that will get the crowd up and dancing or soft and mellow, Dave can play it all!! Highly recommend!!!"

"We met Aidan at Pairings, in Pleasanton, CA, a couple weeks ago while he was performing. He had a great sound and really got the crowd going. My friend was getting married the following week and asked him if he’d be interested in coming to sing for a little bit at their reception. He was willing to fit us in his schedule and we are sure glad he did! He was easy to work with, had great playlist options and really was so willing to work with us and really put us first! He was a great surprise addition to the reception! I strongly recommend him for your next wedding or event!!"

"I booked Jeff for a corporate event earlier in the year and he was by far the best musician we've ever had. Came in, set up, and got to business. Played songs that fit the atmosphere perfectly even though I hadn't given him any suggestions and he took requests at the end which the employees had a blast with. Would definitely hire him again."

"Hired Chad Freeman to provide music/entertainment at my husband’s 70th birthday party in October 2023. Chad arrived early, ready to entertain. Great singer, guitar player and overall provided an awesome evening of live music for our party. True professional that I will hire again for my next party. On top of all of that, a really nice guy!"
