Review Centre: Classical Soloists

"We actually didn't plan to have Stephan play at our wedding, but we feel so lucky to have gotten to make his acquaintance through another musician who we originally contacted. We had heard Paul Izak around town and really liked his music so we had originally contracted with him to play through our appetizers and then to ramp it up to the dancing time. Unfortunately ( actually fortunately :) ) Paul couldn't make it until after the appetizer so he introduced us to Stephan. Paul made the arrangement for Stephan to play classical guitar for our appetizers and then once Paul arrived and dinner/ dancing started they both turned up the amps and played some awesome homecooked Hawaiian style jams. So obviously Stephan is a very talented and diverse musician. We couldn't have been happier with the way things turned out. Stephan's solo style was perfect for our appetizer time. We really liked his classical ( and very classy) take on songs that we know and like. Stephan and Paul made our event feel classy, organic and fun. I'd recommend him to anyone."

"I have had the opportunity to work with Michael in a variety of musical capacities. He's my ensemble's core violinist, having performed with us in nearly ever show we've done (from new opera to Schoenberg's 'Pierrot Lunaire'). I've also worked with him in organizing the Temple Composers Orchestra, where he is the concert master. There he helped coach the string section in approaching complex new music and led the orchestra through six premieres. He is incredibly reliable, honest, hard working, always prepared, and has an abounding creative and musical mind. His insight, talent, and dedication make everyone around him better, and I know that if he's in my ensemble, or playing my piece, or writing for my ensemble, the music making will be better. I cannot recommend him highly enough to anyone! "

"Polina was fantastic. Her range of music was incredible and her playing was mesmerizing. She captivated our guests while adding engergy and fun to our Gala. I would highly recommend her for any event. She was so great I would consider brining her to our next event in Germany, even if she is located in Croatia. "

"I wish I could hire Laura over and over again! We travelled from US to Tuscany for our wedding and I am so happy we picked her. She was punctual, well dressed, well mannered, super friendly and smiley, she played the violin at the Church and then at the Villa where we had our small reception. She knew exactly what to play and when to play it, our one year old son danced to her music all day long and she kept the atmosphere live! Thank you so much Laura, we truly admire your talents. "Stephan was awesome to work with. He played exactly what we wanted and even learned our favorite song for our recessional. We asked him to play with a violinist and he was happy to do so. They sent us samples of them practicing which was amazing. We would definitely work with him again! Thanks!"

"Harry is a fantastic trumpet player and an asset to any band he is part of. With good reading skills, solid improvisation in solo passages and great energy on stage, I would happily book him again. He can play any genre of music with ease, from pop and rock through to more traditional styles and jazz. Easy to get along with, happy to fit in and a true professional in all aspects of his approach."

"The regular pianist at our Church got sick on Friday evening, meaning Marini only had a day to learn nearly a dozen pieces, most of which were unfamiliar to her, including a choir performance. She adapted quickly to our liturgy, and managed to beautifully play everything from ancient chants to modern hymns. Not only did she perform well, she was also communicative, professional, and punctual. I look forward to working with her again!"
