"We had our wedding on a terrace on the grand canal in Venice. Giulia was amazing! She was so accommodating to what we wanted and even took our requests of what to wear! She is super sweet and very kind. She played beautifully and smiled at me through the entire ceremony (which made suck a difference!). She is a wonderful person and I would recommend Giulia for any occasion! "

"I booked The Pocket Rockers for our wedding. We had booked for the previous year but due to COVID the date had to be changed as well as the venue. The band were amazing at keeping in contact with the changing date and venues too. I cant fault them at all. They had everyone up dancing and smiling and singing. Was a thoroughly wonderful evening xx"

"Very good and very professional, the harp always makes a regal impression and my husband who wasn't very convinced at the beginning was left speechless, we couldn't have made a better choice thanks for the time and patience, many compliments poured in for the music in the church Everyone loved it, especially hearing you sing was a pleasant surprise for many"

"I was having a dinner with friends at Halloween and this group was playing at the restaurant in Meyrin, Geneve. The music was great and people started dancing. The group really brought a great atmosphere to the venue. I was really impressed by the quality, professionality and repertoire of this group. "

Your voice is so versatile, you sang classical music so beautifully in the ceremony and then switched effortlessly to jazz and pop for the drinks reception. Thank you also for organising the jazz band and other musicians, and for accommodating our somewhat last minute song requests!"

"Saw them at the Woodman’s in Gorfeild, absolutely fantastic. The front of house sound was great balanced clear and crisp, the mic’d bass drum cut through really well but never overpowered. The bass player had some static buzz which bothered him but could not be heard when they played, the venue was not overcrowded, while this would have been disappointing for the band it allowed me to see and hear them & that suited me fine. Played a wide range of blues from all its sub genres just think BB King to ZZ Top so something for everyone even those that don’t know they like the blues. The lead guitar was very good and his bottleneck side was outstanding the vocal styles of the bass player and the guitarist are very different but work well together and give a variety that is often missing. The beauty of live performance is the nuance of venue acoustics and atmosphere which makes every performance different (keeps it interesting for the band) a couple of the numbers may need a little more work on the vocals but when they got it right as they did most of the time it was like listening to a studio recording with all of the backroom mixing and editing in place. I look forward to seeing them again and can highly recommend."

Thankyou for the good review Sparky! As it happens we were approached at our gig last night in Holbeach November 2nd 2025 who also attended the same gig at Gorefield and she is one of quite a few followers we have in that area!

"L’efficacité de la musique dans les cinq films de Quentin Tarantino a beaucoup à voir avec la façon dont il perçoit la musique. Tarantino pense que les chansons en général fonctionnent comme des films miniatures. Il regarde la musique comme un moyen de prolonger les intrigues de ses films. La bande originale a la responsabilité non seulement de donner le ton de la scène, mais aussi d'apporter de la clarté aux émotions qui ne sont pas pleinement exprimées par les personnages. Tout cela fonctionne de manière transparente parce que Tarantino entend d'abord la chanson, puis écrit une scène autour d'elle. Il n'est donc pas surprenant que la musique ait un impact si remarquable dans ses films. Comment la musique affecte-t-elle la façon dont on perçoit les films de Tarantino ? Il est vrai que toute musique fera réagir le spectateur émotionnellement, mais ce qui compte pour Tarantino, c'est que, la plupart du temps, la musique produit ce qu'il perçoit comme l'impact émotionnel «approprié» sur une scène. Par exemple, si quelque chose d'autre que "Stuck in the Middle With You" avait été choisi pour accompagner la scène "du coupage d’oreille" dans Reservoir Dogs, le public n'aurait peut-être jamais connu les tendances sadiques de Mr Blonde. La clé du succès de Tarantino en évitant la musique perçue comme juste «suffisante» est qu'il écrit tous ses scénarios de film avec une musique spécifique à l'esprit. En étant déterminé dans sa sélection, Tarantino s'assure que la musique de Reservoir Dogs, Pulp Fiction, Jackie Brown, Kill Bill Vol.1 et Kill Bill Vol. 2 joue un rôle actif dans la structure narrative du film et, tout aussi important, qu'il fait quelque chose dont le public voudra se souvenir. Ce sont ces souvenirs que souhaite faire resurgir chez le spectateur les membre de Call me Winston. Cet orchestre « tribute band » nouvellement créé sur la Côte d’Azur est unique dans la Région Sud.
