"Daniel Martinez was at The Queen’s Hall Edinburgh tonight performing his “20th Anniversary of Flamenco” concert to an enthusiastic audience who had filled the venue pretty much to capacity. Born and raised in Cordoba, Andalucia, this performer, composer and award winning guitarist started his professional flamenco studies at the age of 7. Daniel’s flamenco journey was to take him another 14 years of study at the Royal Conservatoire, and the opportunity to perform in some of the best tablaos (venues) in Cordoba. A move to Scotland has seen Danial Martinez make Edinburgh his new home, and tonight’s performance is part of an ongoing goal in life to not only keep true to the original ethos of Flamenco, but also to develop his own music and projects whilst bringing the living and breathing spirit of this art for to new audiences. This evening’s performance was split into two very distinct performances. The first half with Daniel Martinez performing solo on guitar and playing work from some of the great Flamenco guitarists who have influenced his own work over the years, including amongst others, Vicente Amigo, Paco de Lucía and Rafael Riqueni. Watching and listening to Daniel Martinez play guitar is in itself a lesson in his art, as his ability to perform the many challenging techniques that flamenco guitar requires to a very high standard is obvious, but this alone is never going to be enough, and something else has to happen for the spirit of this music to really work its magic, some connection that lets the performer become almost a conduit for the music, and Daniel Martinez has that elusive connection. The final performance of the first half “Baile por Rondena” (Dance for Rondena) was composed by Daniel Martinez and highlighted the interpretive performance skills of dancer Gabriela Pouso. It was perhaps here that we, the audience, got to get a little glimpse into the true spirit of flamenco as Daniel Martinez followed in the footsteps of Gabriela on guitar, along the way improvising his performance to match hers in rhythm, volume and expression with the two performers becoming almost one at times. This performance was a taster for a new project by Daniel Martinez and the Daniel Martinez Flamenco Company, “Andalucia”, and the full show will be performed at The Usher Hall accompanied by a Chamber Orchestra on Wednesday 8 Feb 2023. With this new show, Daniel Martinez is expanding upon his award winning “Art of Believing” work. The second half of the performance was very traditional in format featuring flamenco singing, plus of course more interpretive music and dance from Gabriela Pouso and Daniel Martinez. This show, for me, was a learning experience, a chance to find out more about how singers, dancers and guitarists individually express their own “flamenco spirit”, but also join together to create a performance that is rhythmically mesmerising whilst at the same time telling a story in performance arts. " We couldn’t have asked for a better way to bring live music back to Lucas Founders Day than with Riley Wilson. From the moment he took the stage, his energy and talent set the tone for the entire event. Riley is a true one‑man band! Many guests told us Riley was a highlight and asked if we could bring him back next year—always the best endorsement. If you’re looking for an engaging, professional musician who can fill a festival field with great music and warm rapport, Riley Wilson is your guy. He set a new standard for our entertainment lineup, and we can’t wait to work with him again. "

"We got married on May 27th and we wanted something very special for our ceremony, choosing live music was a total success and all our guests were amazed and delighted with Swite Duo. Eduard and Martí, besides being great musicians, attended to all our requests, some of them quite special, and made the wedding day truly magical. They prepared very special songs for us that we asked for and honestly, it couldn't have been better. Undoubtedly, great professionals and very approachable. Choosing them was undoubtedly the best decision we made in everything related to the wedding. Definitely the best option if you want your wedding day to be truly magical and unforgettable."

" Review received on 9/4/2025 Beautiful music - fantastic experience We hired the duo to play guitar and flute/saxophone for our wedding ceremony and cocktail reception. They were responsive and thoughtful as we discussed songs to be played while we each walked down the aisle and when we walked down the aisle after the ceremony together. They were willing to learn new songs, and made great suggestions to improve the arrangements of one of the songs. Having beautiful live music to welcome our guests, during our ceremony, and during the cocktail reception afterwards made the day even more special. Daniel and Erin arrived early to set up, and everything ran smoothly- they were professional and easy to work with. I wholeheartedly recommend hiring the duo for weddings and other special events. I would book them again myself."

"Chris is a multi functional musician. He is not only a good singer but has a good mastery of an accomplished guitarist. The club members were very impressed with his performance and this crowd is very fussy and selective about their music. We will certainly book him again in the future. We highly recommend him for any venue as his music can cater to people of all ages. "

"The soundtrack of our wedding We contacted Annalisa initially a little hesitant because we were afraid that a band or a singer might be too much for the type of light and fast ceremony we had dreamed of. And instead we immediately changed our minds: from the first contact Annalisa was available and professional, answering all our doubts and helping us define the day's schedule. The selection of songs that accompanied both the ceremony and the banquet and the post-dinner open bar was perfect. It accompanied without overpowering all the important moments of our special day. And what's more, both Annalisa and the guys in the band were so good and engaging that they even convinced my mother to dance: a more unique than rare event. If you are looking for a professional who can accompany your wedding, trust Annalisa with your eyes closed and you won't regret it."
