Review Centre: Pop / Rock Singers

"Matt performed solo for us on our wedding day (Friday 20th December 2019). We got married at Haarlem Mill in Wirksworth and had our reception at the same venue so Matt played/sang during our ceremony (including learning the song I walked down the aisle to), during our drinks reception, during the meal and then learnt a new song for our first dance as well. It must of been a really long day for him but he was amazing throughout and our guests are still raving about him. He created a great atmosphere throughout the day but especially during our wedding breakfast, you could immediately notice the huge difference the second he started playing, it made the meal feel so much livelier and upbeat. Matt even had people singing and swaying along to his singing whilst they ate their meals (plus he had all the kids up on the dance floor before pudding even arrived). He was friendly, helpful and polite throughout the booking process. Everything was streamlined and easy so we had no stress or concerns before the big day and we thought he was very very reasonably priced in comparison to similar acts. We'd 100% recommend Matt and we'll certainly hire him again for future events. Thanks for being part of our big day, you were amazing! Mr & Mrs White x (10 / 10)"

"One amazing party!! Sheldon performed at our 40th birthday celebration at a vineyard, and we couldn’t have been happier with the choice. He set a great atmosphere from the beginning, and it didn’t take long before the guests were up on the dance floor. He has a fantastic and strong voice, a solid stage presence, and a great ability to read the room and adapt the music to suit the crowd. The overall organisation and communication were smooth throughout. We would happily recommend Sheldon for any event!"

"Jasmine and Doug had us all singing and dancing all night. I would thoroughly recommend them. I love how they cover all genres and were able to cater for a mix of ages. They are such lovely people and lots of fun! Thoroughly recommended.best wishes Graham"

"Words truly can not describe how amazing of an experience it was having Felipe sing for us. I hired him to sing while I proposed to my girlfriend (now fiance) on South Beach, Miami. We also worked out plans for him to have a picnic all set up for us and everything was incredible and beautiful and perfect! My girlfriend was completely surprised. The picnic was 5 stars and the professionalism and attention to detail that he and his wife showed was incredible! Felipe has an amazing voice. Listen to him sing his own song called "And I Love Her", and you will definitely agree. I highly recommend hiring Felipe for any special event and you will not be disappointed."

"They say the hardest thing for a performer is to play to an audience full of other performers. That is exactly what we booked James for last Friday night. His audience was made up of musical theatre actors, singers and dancers. What really stood out to me was the flexibility that James showed on the night. He did a few songs in the first set and then started changing things up. Once he found the genre of songs that got the audience singing and dancing, he never looked back. The evening went from strength to strength as James mixed in tracks from shows like Les Misérables, Oliver! and Beauty and the Beast. In the numbers where the lead singers from these shows was in the audience, he shared the microphone, and the duets brought the house down. No one wanted it to end, so we asked James to do a third set during which he was totally in tune with the audience. Between the signing and the laughter, he had the whole group in the palm of his hand. Well done James! You can book him with confidence"

"We had the absolute pleasure of having Matt play at our wedding, and we truly couldn’t have asked for a more perfect musician for the day. Matt created a beautiful, joyful atmosphere throughout the day. It was the perfect vibe for our wedding, warm & easy listening with excellent song choices. So many of our guests came up to us throughout the day to tell us how incredible they thought he was. He clearly read the audience and played exactly what suited the mood to keep guests bobbing along all day. If you’re looking for someone to elevate your event, we couldn’t recommend Matt more highly. He was so professional, talented and genuinely kind. He put in a huge amount of effort beforehand to ensure the event was everything we dreamed it would be. "In perfect harmony Private Function on Wednesday 23 February 2022 I like to think I know a thing or two about music (don't we all!), or perhaps I'm being a bit smug, having been a music journalist most of my working life. So when my friend, Tim, asked my opinion about a band to have for his business functions, I had no hesitation in recommending MAYHEM. I have only seen the band perform once, at a club in Hertfordshire, but, even with my so-called wide experience, I was taken aback to hear such superior use of harmony and dynamics, unusual in these settings to say the least. Of course, the subtleties of the music went completely unnoticed by the clientele, even though the band was very well-received, on the basis of it's well-chosen set of popular songs with a strong beat. The two voices are excellent in their own right, but taken together, the reward is even greater, a perfect blend of harmony, made all the more interesting by the clever use of the arrangements, which make the backing tracks - self-made by the band - seem to be bent to the will of the singers, not the other way round as is usual with someone singing to a track. Not only the vocals, but the supreme skill of a virtuoso keyboard player - when I later learned about his history, it all made perfect sense to me, someone who was responsible for a whole musical genre was not about to lose his touch. As for Tim, after hearing only the first few songs, he made up his mind to offer the band a residency. And so he should....... Jack Diamond, Thursday 24 February 2022 "

"These guys are top class. There wasn't a dry eye in the house when Alkka sang a beautiful rendition of my favourite song ‘A Galway Shawl’’. Their music together is mesmerising and their smiles and enthusiasm are something else too. We absolutely loved every song they played/sang. They are so easy to work with and extremely obliging, learning songs and sending recordings and just generally being gorgeous. I cannot recommend them enough. Xx AMAZING "

"I regularly booked Naked Stereo for events for the Woodcock Group. They play a wide mix of songs and try to accommodate the clientele. Christmas Eve was a fantastic night and I would not hesitate if you wanted to book them too."

"Alkka and Chris have entertained our guests at various events/venues in Spain for over the last 8 years. The only “complaints” from the venue owners have been that they live 5 hours from us so they can’t perform regularly at their establishments or they would book them time & time again! Our guests adore them, their musicality is beyond compare! Can’t speak highly enough of them or their musical entertainment."
