Review Centre: Jazz Singers

"Well, where can I start! From initially stumbling upon Dr Jazz and realising that there was something rather special about their approach and unique sound, to the very first email and phone calls to discuss our plans for the day, all the way through to our Wedding day itself – Dr Jazz and company were brilliant. Helpful, friendly, and wonderfully entertaining, we could not have asked for anything more. The set itself was fantastic – we were blown away with how much of an impact they made, not only in terms of everyone feeling the urge to get up to dance (which was a slight worry for us before the day!), but also with their spot on interaction with the guests, and overall management and ownership of the evening. We really knew we’d made the right decision as soon as the first note was played – talk about creating a spectacle!! In terms of a front man Matthew is absolutely superb, and his supporting crew of brilliantly talented musicians helped make our day one to remember for both us and our guests. Thank you all so very much for everything. We know what it’s like trying to find the ‘right band’, ourselves having trawled through many hundreds of sample tracks from other people and groups, and the worries that come with it regarding whether people will like it, whether it’ll be well received etc. The best advice I can honestly give is that if you are sitting there reading this review, and you have enjoyed the sample tracks you’ve listened to, then please don’t hesitate to book these guys. You will not regret it, and you and your guests will certainly never forget it. They were nothing short of marvellous. Once again we wanted to say thank you very much for everything – we really had a fantastic time, as did everyone else in attendance, and it is all thanks to you and your crew. You certainly made the evening, if not the day for us, and we are so pleased and lucky to have been able to book you to play for us. You were nothing short of brilliant, and we can’t stop talking or thinking about how amazing you were (and nor can anyone else!) It was so lovely to meet you all in person. All the best for the future, and please rest assured that we’ll be singing your praises for the years to come!"

"I recently had the opportunity to meet CJ and to play with him at a couple of local jazz jam sessions. He is a joy to be around with high energy and an engaging personality! And what a great musician—he raises the bar for all the musicians around him. I especially love his musical sense of humor. Turn your event into a real party with CJ!"

"Having Rosa Jane at our event was an absolute pleasure. The duo had exceptional talent and really created a cool atmosphere during our medical summit in Barcelona, and she was able to provide exactly what we were looking for. She is extremely reliable and communicative, and was able to work at our event at a last minute's notice. Very professional, we would work with her again!"

"From the moment we heard the band virtually, we knew we needed to book them for our wedding in Tuscany. As a bride from Canada I was worried about not being able to find a band for our ceremony and aperitif and not being able to hear them live as we would only be meeting them the day of the wedding. Ivan made us feel so confident in our choice and answered all our questions prior to booking, as well as assist in tailoring the song choices to our preference. The band was one of the highlights of our wedding and our guests could not stop talking about how talented and amazing they were. I highly recommend them for anyone wanting the perfect musical group to compliment their wedding."

"We thoroughly enjoyed the performance. Even though there were a lot of guests, it was very noisy, and many people were on the terrace, it was very pleasant to have a pleasant tune playing in the background. So, it was a great success. I really appreciated that this musical trio could be arranged on such short notice, which definitely added value to the success of the event."

"Sarah travelled to Settle to sing at my mum's funeral last week and her vocals were amazing and added so much. She helped me with the song choices, singing Somewhere Over the Rainbow during the service and Nella Fantasia unaccompanied at the graveside as well as leading on hymns and songs during the service. From the first time we spoke her warmth and compassion was clear and really helpful to me. As for her vocal, her voice is simply stunning and it added so much to the occasion, everyone there was deeply moved by them. I know my mum would have loved and it helped to make her send off so beautiful. Thanks so much Sarah for being part of it. Debbie Fox"

"Blue Moon Jazz Band helped to create a magical environment for our wedding ceremony and aperitivo. I was very particular about the song and exact arrangement that I wanted to walk down the aisle to, and the pianist Raphael learned it and played it so beautifully. He also did a great job playing a very technically difficult song for our recessional. The jazz standards the group played during aperitivo set the tone for the night – allowing us to connect over the music or dance and sway along if we chose to! The group plays with a lot of heart and emotion! Thank you so much to the group for contributing to the best day of our lives! We definitely recommend to all. "

"On the night Pete Billigton set the right atmosphere with his piano, leading up to a superb gig with Fleur Stevenson singing, accompanied by Pete and Raph Mizraki on the double bass. Fleur's voice is remarkable and the choice of pieces was most fitting. I was complimented by many friends about the music - some jazz players themselves."

"From start to finish Cara has been truly amazing. She jumped on board with my unconventional party with enthusiasm, professionalism and with a sense of caring about why we were having the party. She had a willingness to learn some songs which have meaning to the family.. and doing so at short notice. As for her performance, she has an incredible voice which the guests were talking about for ages after she had finished her set. I would highly recommend Cara and will definitely being after her to play one of our parties again. "

"Cara, just wow, honestly one of the most professional, versatile and adaptive singers I have come across. Not to mention her soul stopping voice! I’ve had to do a few events before and she is by far the most perfect entertainer. She made quite a niche plan (involving fancy dress, barges and fire!) completely feasible and all without batting an eye lid, especially impressive as she only found out there and then the full plan. It goes without saying that she has got true talent. Further the diverse requests were all met with such ease and at times she didn’t even need music! So straight forward, very responsive and approachable, with all her own equipment, Cara will honestly make your event a special memory and with such ease! Thank you Cara! Tom had a timeless send off! "

"Ruth was amazing at helping to organise my 50th birthday party. She was very good at communicating with me. We went through a playlist of all my favourite songs before the event. Nothing was too much to ask to make my special day. She had a great repertoire of different genres which suited my eclectic taste. We had 100 people dancing all night long. I cannot recommend her enough!"
