"Our guests were absolutely captivated by Renato and his talented jazz trio during our dinner party at Quinta de La Rosa. Their cohesive sound and charismatic presence created an unforgettable atmosphere, effortlessly transitioning from lively tunes to mellow ballads. The dynamic repertoire set the perfect mood for the evening, making every moment feel special. We are immensely grateful for their contribution - We couldn’t have asked for more!"

We went to a restaurant just off Sixth Avenue and wound up talking from 2:30 pm until 8:00 pm. All those hours we talked about the saxophone, about music, and how this must-cian from Seattle was faring in the Apple. Another time, he called me at 2:00 am insisting that I listen to a new musical idea he had forged for himself. Next morning the telephone receiver was on the floor; I had tallen asleep. Embarras-sed, I mustered what I hoped was a believable apology. I don't think it mattered however. He'd played that night because he couldn't contain the energy, moved to share this wonderful gift of music. His music, this gift, will inspire you. It's at once bold and incisive, spirited and alarming. Booker 1. is daring enough to bring together in his own compositions things that are usually kept separate - jazz and religious music. It makes for a spritely, fun sound. The listener will be moved by the intensity, range and absolute beauty of the entire delivery. But caution: do not trust the titles, expect a surprise.. As music brings the warmth and light of beauty into our lives, this recording will warm our hearts and spirits. Through this light, perhaps we will see a little more of ourselves. Possibly, we will come to understand a bit more of each other. Either way, it is a wonderful gift. Booker 1. is a colossal talent! Gregg Gordon "

"On Sept. 3, 2022, a wonderful and exciting Band, Johnny White and the Elite” played a live performance for a 60th Birthday party I hosted. The band was great, the music was centered around the age group of my clients; 40-70 years of age. The melody and acoustics were on point and the singers were elegant and poised. This band played three sets for about an hour each. The audience was well engaged and enthralled with the music the band played; several members of the audience were caught dancing and strolling to the beat. The singers sang with such quality and pitch. It was clear they were well rehearsed and had been singing as a seamless group for years. Their movements were choreographed which also included wardrobe changes. My favorite was the Duke Blue attire. I highly recommend Johnny & the Elite band for any type of event; they were professional from start to finish. I hope to use them again soon.

"New Orleans is a state-of-mind. Every year around this time of year, Mardi Gras is an explosion of joyousness. You don't have to travel down to Louisiana to feel it. Its spirit resides in Mercer County in a little town called Ewing, where Joe Grillo leads The Gumbo Gumbas on a Cajun holiday all year round. The jump-blues, zydeco, rocl'n'roll, jazz, folk strains and oh such soul are on full display wherever they play. Now you can even share that feeling, that zest for life, that passionate embodiment of the groove, in your own home. Zydeland has to be the feel-good album of the year so far. Written, arranged, produced, sung and honked on his tenor sax, Grillo imbues Zydeland with a Bourbon Street beat. He's an honorary French Quarter denizen of the night. Of course, there's always time to invoke a little Tom Waits on highlight "Can't Go Back to New Orleans" The colors mix and mingle with tuba, banjo, guitar, violin, viola, cello, trombone, accordion, piano, bass, clarinet, soprano sax, trumpet and that penetration percolation percussion. Excuse me, I got to get on up and do the boogaloo. You just can't set still for this thing."
