"OliveTreeDance at Boom Festival 2016 – A Multi-Tribal Explosion of Sound Boom Festival 2016 was already an immersive celebration of art, music, and consciousness, but when OliveTreeDance took the stage, the entire experience was elevated to an entirely new dimension. The Portuguese tribal-dance powerhouse delivered a performance that was nothing short of hypnotic—a sonic ritual that ignited every cell in the bodies of those fortunate enough to witness it. From the very first vibration of the didgeridoo, the air became electric. Renato Oliveira (Oliver) wielded his instrument like a shaman leading a ceremony, his deep, pulsating drones setting the foundation for a transcendental dance journey. The fusion of earthy grooves and ethereal overtones created an atmosphere that felt ancient yet futuristic, grounding yet cosmic. The percussion was the heartbeat of the experience, an intricate network of beats that dictated the tempo of the trance. The drums were relentless yet perfectly controlled, shifting between deep tribal grooves and explosive, high-energy bursts that sent waves of movement rippling through the crowd. The interplay between the didgeridoo and the rhythmic section was pure alchemy—seamlessly weaving moments of intensity with hypnotic breakdowns, allowing dancers to ride the waves of sound like tribal nomads journeying through a sonic landscape. The energy of the performance was nothing short of infectious. The Boom crowd—already known for its uninhibited, ecstatic dance expression—was completely in sync with the music. Faces painted in fluorescent colors, feet stomping the dust into the air, arms reaching for the sky—this was more than a concert; it was a collective rite of passage into a state of pure rhythm-driven euphoria. "We hired Josiah to play his saxophone at my dear mother's funeral. Josiah played beautifully and really uplifted the mood and tone of the day, making what could have been a sombre occasion, a special one. He even went the extra mile to create a bespoke soundtrack for the reception. I highly recommend his service"

His connection and interactiveness with the audience, especially the children is electrifying and infectious. "I first saw this drummer perform for a show that took place in march and was instantly moved by the surreal sound of his drumming. His talent brought out excitement out of everyone one and he made the show a success. I can definitely say that he is a drummer to keep an eye on 😉"
