Review Centre: Acoustic Duos

"Ray and Kay were great. They arrived early and took the time and care to set up to where they weren't too loud or intrusive. I know it can be a delicate and tricky balance for the musicians to estimate whether or not they're overpowering an audience that wants to socialize yet stay present enough to not fade into the background. They clearly have the experience to understand dynamics and are really good at reading a room. It's nice to be accommodating, but also refreshing to see a musical act sense when a night is wrapping up. We event directors want to go home at some point, too! Ray and Kay were tight, professional and friendly. Worth hiring for any event. "

"Matt was absolutely incredible at our wedding on Saturday, everyone loved his set and didn't want it to end. Matt kindly offered to learn a new song for our first dance and fortunately it was one he was already familiar with. Having that live performance for our first dance made it that much more special. "For the memorial Mass of my grandparents, we wanted something sober yet meaningful. The organist and soprano understood exactly the atmosphere we were hoping for. They selected sacred pieces performed with great delicacy, never making the moment feel heavy. The soprano’s voice has a warm, reassuring tone, and the organist shows exceptional mastery of the instrument. They handled everything with professionalism, adapting to the parish’s needs. We are truly grateful for their contribution."

"Rock tonight were the highlight of our wedding! They were fantastic. They done a lovely acoustic set during our cocktail hour then the band played after dinner. They created the most amazing atmosphere and we danced all night. 3 months on and our guests are still talking about them! Laura and the band are super friendly and always on hand to answer any questions. High recommend!"

"The Hornbeams were a pleasure to deal with from start to finish - polite, efficient and professional. Many of our guests commented on how great they were and what a beautiful voice Lucy has. All in all, I had no desire or budget for live music but we are so happy that we discovered and booked them, they made our drinks reception complete! "Thank you for helping to create the perfect romantic and chilled atmosphere to our riverside view wedding ceremony and drinks reception at The Masterbuilder’s at Bucklers Hard. Entrance song ‘At Last’ and exit song ‘All of me’ sung beautifully and the perfect choice for the perfect location. A wonderful duo who contributed to such a beautiful day. Lucy’s vocals were out of this world, with many guests commenting on what an amazing duo they were. Not only were they great artists, they were lovely people, which made it even more special."

"Guty and Simone are fantastic!! We had them perform at our wedding evening reception near Florence. We did lots of research on-line and made contact with a number of musicians before choosing Guty and Simone. We were delighted that they were available for our wedding because after a lot of homework they were our number 1 choice. We did all the organising for our wedding from the UK ourselves so it was great to deal with Guty and Simone as we found they were very professional and timely in replying to all our e-mails and this really put our mind at ease. They were able to advise us of everything we needed to know in advance and also gave us a huge catalogue of songs we could choose from and offered to learn additional songs if we required them. We both have a broad taste in music styles but found that G&S had lots of choice from old to new and across different styles of music as well pop, rock, traditional Italian, international etc. We found that G&S offer a fantastic service and real value for money. They came and set up their equipment in advance very sympathetically while our service was under way in another part of the venue. Our guests really enjoyed dancing to all their songs and I almost forgot to mention they are fantastic musicians!! They are also great showmen and had all our guests even those who don't normally dance on the dance floor! We would have no hesitation recommending Guty and Simone to anyone they were a key component in making our day special!"
