Accompanists for Hire in Niagara-on-the-Lake

The accompanists for hire are skilled musicians who provide musical support for singers, instrumentalists, choirs or other performers. They typically play piano or keyboard, though some specialise in guitar or other instruments. Accompanists are commonly booked for weddings, recitals, auditions and religious services.

Common events for accompanists include wedding ceremonies, church services, vocal recitals, auditions, rehearsals and other events where a singer or performer needs live musical support. Some accompanists also provide solo background music for drinks receptions and dinners.

Most accompanists are experienced sight-readers and can learn or prepare specific pieces for an event. It is advisable to send any music or song requests in advance so the accompanist can prepare. Many are comfortable working with a wide range of musical styles.

Most accompanists who play portable instruments such as guitar will bring their own equipment. Keyboard players typically bring their own instrument, though some may prefer to use a piano if one is available at the venue. It is worth confirming instrument and equipment arrangements when making an enquiry.
