A singer with an acoustic guitar suits a function room, a marquee or a back bar without any extra equipment, while larger halls and outdoor stages need a bigger PA and sometimes a second musician to fill the space.

Some rooms have a house PA the artist can plug into, others have a sound limiter that cuts the power if the volume goes over a set level, which matters more with a full backing track than with a voice and guitar.
