Guitar players mostly quote per set rather than per hour, with rates in Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes starting from about €110 for a single instrumental set, typical bookings around €360 and singer-guitarists bringing their own PA reaching €1,050+. Longer performances, weekend and peak-season dates, and sets that include vocals all push quotes up. When comparing quotes, check what each includes: amplification, travel and time to learn requested songs are sometimes itemised separately. Booking ceremony and reception music with the same performer often costs less than hiring two separate acts. Contact the supplier you like for an accurate quote.

Photo of Vincent Pellerin Vincent Pellerin "Vincent was very professional, arrived early, performed beautiful music for our dinner" Based in Lyon, Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes 28th August 2026 Maurice Photo of Matt Denison Music Matt Denison Music "We were incredibly fortunate to have Matt as the musician for our wedding in France! From start to finish, he went above and beyond—not only performing but also helping to set up all the sound for our ceremony and ensuring the musical setup for the entire day was flawless. His immense talent and infectious energy got the party started and kept everyone dancing all night long. Our guests haven’t stopped raving about his performance! Matt brought a magical touch to our special day, and we wholeheartedly recommend him to anyone looking for a truly unforgettable musical experience." Based in Morzine, Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes Drew and Mila Gettings - Weedding Photo of Tazio Forte Quartet Tazio Forte Quartet "The best and coolest quartet for aperitivo! We where so happy to have them play at our wedding. Book them if you want high quality live music!" Based in Turin, Piedmont, Italy Live Hunskaar - Private Wedding Photo of Elise Elise "Thank you Elise for your performance and your sublime voice, you have delighted both adults and children with your varied repertoire and songs that are beautifully and subtly appropriated. Special mention also for the two songs I asked you for, which were perfectly interpreted." Based in Villeneuve-Loubet, Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur Region 26th October 2026 Olivier SAIGHI - Birthday Photo of Moon and Silver Duo Moon and Silver Duo "We had the immense pleasure of having Angelo and Francesca ("Moon and Silver") perform at our wedding in Tuscany this June, and they were simply wonderful. Their performance during our ceremony in the Duomo di Pienza was truly mesmerizing and created a truly unforgettable atmosphere. They also provided the perfect musical backdrop for our afternoon coffee and cocktail reception; elegant, relaxed, and never overpowering. Beyond their outstanding musical skill, they were kind, professional, and a pleasure to work with throughout. We couldn't recommend them more highly to anyone looking for beautiful live music for a wedding or special event. Grazie, grazie, grazie mille!" Based in Alessandria, Piedmont, Italy 16th July 2026 Frederik & Julia - Wedding Photo of Kymotopia Kymotopia "I was thrilled when Kymotopia agreed to play at our wedding, and they somehow exceeded all expectations. Jean-Nöel and Joseph were incredibly accommodating from start to finish, happily taking on special requests, including learning specific pieces especially for us, and even helping out with a few extra things on the day. We asked them to perform some of these learned pieces at key moments during the ceremony and they absolutely nailed it. "A World of Waves" (their first album) is forever going to be a musical portal for me back to that special day. These two are fantastic musicians and wonderful to work with. We couldn’t recommend them highly enough!" Based in Basel, Canton of Basel-City, Switzerland 7th September 2026 Daniel Jacobs - Private Wedding

Frequently asked questions

The average price for guitarists on Gig Heaven is €360, with rates ranging from €110 to €1,050+. Cost depends on performance duration, the guitarist's experience and whether the booking is for background music or a full live set. Guitarists on the platform cover a wide range of styles including classical, jazz, blues, rock, flamenco and pop.

The guitarists for hire cover a huge range of styles including classical, jazz, blues, flamenco, rock, pop, folk, fingerstyle and acoustic covers. Many guitarists are versatile performers who can switch between styles during an event to suit different moments.

Popular occasions for hiring guitarists include wedding ceremonies, drinks receptions, corporate dinners, private parties, restaurant entertainment and ambient background music. A solo guitarist provides versatile, elegant live music that suits both intimate and larger settings.

Most guitarists are happy to learn specific songs for key moments such as a ceremony entrance or first dance. Many have extensive repertoires covering popular songs, classical pieces and jazz standards. It is advisable to discuss song requests with the guitarist well in advance.

Many guitarists on Gig Heaven play both electric and acoustic guitar and can choose the instrument that best suits the event. Acoustic guitar provides a warm, intimate sound for ceremonies and dining, while electric guitar is better for rock, blues and higher-energy performances.

For small, quiet settings, many guitarists can perform acoustically. For larger venues, outdoor events or noisier environments, a small amplifier or PA system is usually needed. Most guitarists bring their own amplification. For the best experience, discuss the venue size with the performer.

One player can usually cover the whole day, moving from processional and signing music during the ceremony to background playing over drinks and dinner. Timings are agreed in advance, since the ceremony music has fixed cues while the reception is more flexible. Where the ceremony and the reception are in different spaces, allow time to move and set up between them.

Most bookings run to two or three hours of playing time, split into sets with breaks, though the total time on site is longer once setup and soundcheck are added. Shorter ceremony-only bookings of around 40 minutes are common and are priced differently. Ask for playing time rather than hours on site, as the two are not the same.

Outdoor playing is common for ceremonies and garden receptions, and most players are happy to do it given shade and a level surface. Direct sun and damp both affect a wooden instrument, so a covered area is worth arranging even in settled weather. Wind carries sound away quickly, so amplification is usually needed outdoors even for a small number of guests.
