Live jazz groups bring a polished, adaptable sound to weddings and events. These professional musicians handle everything from soft background music during dinner to high-energy dance sets, adjusting their repertoire and volume to suit your venue and occasion. Most jazz acts offer flexible lineup sizes, so a trio that plays your cocktail hour can expand to a quintet or larger group for the evening.
The most popular format is a three or four-piece jazz group for wedding receptions and corporate functions, with a classic combination of piano or guitar, bass, drums and sometimes saxophone or vocals. Smaller duos work well for ceremonies and intimate settings, while larger ensembles with brass and dedicated vocalists suit bigger venues and dance-focused events. Many jazz musicians also offer themed sets, including 1920s Gatsby-era jazz, bossa nova, and modern pop songs rearranged in a swing style.
Rates for jazz bands in the United States currently range from about $160 for smaller ensembles to $2,250+ for larger groups or extended performances, with an average booking cost of $600. Price typically reflects the number of musicians, set length, travel requirements, and any custom arrangements. Trios and quartets offer good value for most events, while full big band setups command a higher fee but deliver a richer, more dynamic sound.
The average price is $600 (USD), with most priced from $160 to $2,250+. Contact the supplier you like for an accurate quote.

Yuval Agam
"I had an absolutely wonderful experience with Yuval! From the moment he arrived, he was professional, personable, and incredibly talented. His music created the perfect atmosphere for my 36th birthday cookout, and my family and friends couldn’t stop talking about how amazing he was.
He played a beautiful mix of jazz, classic R&B, and timeless favorites that brought everyone together. His performance was smooth, engaging, and added such a special touch to the celebration. He was also accommodating, easy to communicate with, and truly cared about making the event memorable.
If you’re looking for a gifted saxophonist who will elevate your event with exceptional musicianship and great energy, I highly recommend Yuval. I would absolutely book him again!
Thank you for making my birthday so special!"
The GS Jazz Group
"Tom and his band were absolutely fantastic. They were so talented and played the set exactly as I requested. I even had specific songs I wanted to hear, and they played them perfectly. They have a large fund of knowledge of musical styles and genres, and as musicians they are top drawer. I hope I can hire them again for another function. If they were playing at a club, I would go just to hear them."
Audley Reid Saxophonist
"Audley played sax at our drinks reception and honestly, he was such a great choice. Just him and his sax, and the whole room felt warmer the second he started. Guests kept wandering over to listen, and a few came up to ask us who he was. He was super easy to work with too, showed up on time and just got on with it. We’d book him again in a heartbeat."

Soo Sings
"Holiday Party for Professional Network
Soo did an amazing job for our Senior Club Holiday Celebration. She is one of the most versatile performers EVER. She got the audience involved and they loved her!! Never thought I would see an 84 year old woman play tambourine and do squat-drops to the floor. Lots of fun for all."
