Jazz Guitarists for Hire in Yokohama

Q: How much do jazz guitarists cost in Yokohama?

Pricing for jazz guitarists ranges from ¥26,500 to ¥215,000+, with an average of ¥75,000. Rates depend on the guitarist's experience, performance duration and whether the booking is for a solo performance, a duo or a larger ensemble. Jazz guitarists are a popular choice for background music at receptions, dinners and cocktail events.

Q: What styles can jazz guitarists play?

The jazz guitarists for hire perform a range of jazz styles including swing, bossa nova, gypsy jazz, smooth jazz, bebop and jazz-funk. Many also cover popular songs and standards in a jazz style. The jazz guitar has a warm, mellow tone that suits both background and featured performances.

Q: What events are jazz guitarists suitable for?

Common events for jazz guitarists include cocktail receptions, corporate dinners, wedding ceremonies, restaurant entertainment and private parties. A solo jazz guitarist provides sophisticated, unobtrusive live music that enhances the atmosphere without overpowering conversation.

Q: Does a jazz guitarist perform solo or with other musicians?

Many jazz guitarists offer flexible formats including solo performances, duo or trio settings (often with double bass and drums), and as part of larger jazz ensembles. It is advisable to discuss the best format for your event and venue.

Q: Do jazz guitarists need amplification?

For intimate settings, many jazz guitarists can perform without amplification. For larger venues or events with background noise, a small amplifier is typically used. Most jazz guitarists bring their own equipment. For the best experience, confirm the setup based on the venue.

Q: Can a jazz guitarist join musicians already booked for the event?

Sitting in with an existing line-up is normal work for jazz players, who are used to reading charts and following a standard repertoire with little rehearsal. Agreeing a set list, or at least a shared songbook, is what makes it work. Where the other musicians are booked separately, say so at the enquiry stage, as it changes what the guitarist prepares.

Q: Are jazz guitarists able to play a full evening without breaks?

A solo player normally works in sets of around 45 minutes with short breaks between them, and unbroken playing across a long dinner is quoted differently. Whether the music has to be continuous is worth deciding early, since it changes both the fee and whether a second player is worth adding. Most will say how long they can comfortably play in one stretch if asked.

Q: Is one guitarist enough for a larger room?

A single guitar suits rooms of up to around a hundred guests once amplified, beyond which the sound thins against the noise of a crowd. For larger events players usually suggest adding a second instrument rather than turning the volume up. Guest numbers and room size are what decide this, not the style of music being played.

Singer Guitarist "Brendan is a wonderfully talented and professional musician. He performs well with all age groups: teaching, writing songs for musicals, children, adults...with insight and creativity. He is a fun and entertaining performer, who delights his audience. He is such a brilliant guitarist! I highly recommend Brendan's gigs." Based in Devonport, Tasmania, Australia (5,310 miles from Yokohama) Jen

los angeles acoustic Guitarist "Ian Kauffman was an absolute pleasure to work with. For couples looking for live music for their ceremony or the reception, Ian is the pro. His glowing reviews are a direct reflection of his work. With little direction, Ian is able to provide clients with an eclectic list of music that brings all age groups onto the dance floor – a serious accomplishment. Not to mention, as a planner, releasing tables to a buffet line can be a stressful task, as you do not want guests waiting in an endless line. This not only demonstrates his flexibility in his services, but also his understanding for tasteful execution. The wedding I coordinated occurred on New Years Eve, so Ian was expected to provide 10+ hours of engaging music – a task he accomplished flawlessly. My bride was extremely satisfied with the outcome as well. I look forward to recommending Ian to my future clients and working with him again." Based in Los Angeles, California, United States (5,490 miles from Yokohama) Steve Jones - Private Individual

Anton Ripatti "Dear Mr. Ripatti, We are pleased to confirm our intention to engage you as a musician for performances at our Irish Pub Dubliner in Bayreuth in the future. After your first audition with us, we were enthusiastic and find the musical performance very suitable for us as an Irish Pub, so we would very much like to include you as a new regular musician in the planning of our regular events in the coming years, depending on scheduling availability. Best regards Irish Pub Dubliner, Wittelsbacherring 2-4, 95444 Bayreuth Phone: 0921-512630 Tax No.: 208/254/40101 Bayreuth Tax Office IBAN: DE05 7734 0076 0741 8643 00 BIC: COBADEFFXXX (Commerzbank Bayreuth) Owner: Ralph Neidhardt" Translated from German Based in Berlin, Germany (5,554 miles from Yokohama) Ralf Neidhardt - Dubliner Bar, Bayreuth
