Violinists in Cavan, Ulster, Ireland cover a broad spectrum of styles for events across your area. Solo acoustic performers handle classical ceremony music and background sets for dinners and receptions, while electric violin players bring high-energy chart covers and dance music with backing tracks. Traditional fiddle players are a popular pick for folk-themed celebrations and cultural events near you.
The right performer depends on the type of event and the atmosphere you want to create. Classical violin suits formal ceremonies, drinks receptions and corporate dinners. Electric violin works well for livelier moments such as evening receptions, product launches and milestone parties. Many local violin players offer both acoustic and electric options within a single booking, transitioning between styles as the event progresses. It is worth asking about repertoire, set lengths and any additional equipment they bring.
Rates for violin players in Cavan begin at about €150 for a single short set, with most quotes coming in near €400 and experienced electric acts carrying their own sound equipment reaching €1,050+. Set length drives the figure more than anything else, followed by whether the performance is acoustic or electric and how far the player travels. Learning a specific piece for a processional or first dance usually adds a small fee, and covering a ceremony and an evening reception together costs more than a single set. Ask for a written quote that states set length, arrival time and the rate if the schedule overruns.

Asgards Traditional Irish Music
"Thank you so much for playing at our wedding and adding such a wonderful touch to the day. Walking down the aisle to Tabhair dom do lámh was a moment we'll never forget, and the tunes you played throughout the cocktail reception kept the atmosphere so lively and joyous. Your music made Emma's whole Irish side of the family very happy and gave many of our American guests their first intro to traditional Irish music - not to mention that you all sounded great too! We can't thank you enough for adding such a special touch to our Wedding Day!
With so much gratitude,"
Ayden Graham – Folk/Rock/Jazz Covers
"An absolute breath of new life in the music scene. Fantastic musician with a wide range of styles with amazing vocals. Very entertaining. Watch out for this guy,he is well worth a listen. Go see him perform."
Meadhbh Hayes - Trad/Folk/Pop Covers
"Simply put, Meadhbh Hayes is a show stopper. She played for our private family of 17 during our stay in Galway. She is bursting with talent, charisma, and energy. Honestly if she lived in the USA I would befriend her in an instant. Her song choices catered to a wide range of tunes and she even sang a new song she wrote. Phenomenal in every way!! Highly recommend for your next event. She will not disappoint!"
Swingy duo
"We were very lucky to have Alice and Fernando travel up the country and perform at our wedding. We had them perform at both our drinks reception and the after-dinner entertainment.
We had given a few suggestions like to play some ‘summery rock music but in their own style’ as well as performing their own style of music, and they absolutely delivered! They are both extremely talented and it was such a unique musical act to hear at a wedding which was exactly what we wanted!
We were so happy with everything they did and highly recommend them.
The only downside was that myself and the groom were not able to just sit and listen to them playing as we were so busy throughout the day 😂"
Foot Stompin' Ceilidh Band
"The band were wonderful and so accommodating with our requests for the night which helped to make it just that little bit more special. So many of our guests commented on the fantastic music!"
Kate Violin
"Kate's pre event contactablity was excellent, her manner very pleasant, she was punctual, undemanding and very helpful and that was before she had even played a note. She performed to a mixed age audience and held us spell-bound by her variety of music which she had selected based upon a brief resume we sent her. The mix of modern, popular and classical music was both recognisable to most and certainly enjoyed by all. She is also such an unassuming young woman. From an audience of circa 200 we wish her every success in the entertainment industry. We will certainly invite her back in the future."
