Photo of The Big Fat Party Band The Big Fat Party Band "Horizon played at my husband’s 50th birthday villa party in Marbella and they were absolutely spectacular. They played all the classic rock and pop hits we grew up with and the sound quality was fantastic. The band brought so much life and energy to our garden setup, and they really interacted with all our guests. Thank you for making it a night to remember for everyone." Based in Milton Keynes, England 8th July 2026 Katie Reynolds - Birthday Photo of Francis Francis "These guys absolutely made our day with their performance! We were so pleased Alex and the guys could join us in Cape Town — it meant the world to us. All the guests were blown away. Every single request was met!" Based in Milton Keynes, England 21st April 2026 Jim - Wedding — Cape Town, South Africa Photo of Shoot To Thrill Shoot To Thrill "Shoot To Thrill were phenomenal throughout. From setting up, to sound check, to the incredible performance on our wedding day, they were fantastic. Our guests loved the music and we have been delighted by the comments we have received from our guests. The musicianship, the perfect sound and the choice of songs were all spot on. Can only say a massive 'thank you'." Based in Milton Keynes, England David and Alex Taylor - Wedding Photo of The Krakens The Krakens "From start to finish we have nothing but praise for The Krakens. Chris was quick to respond to my enquiry looking for a band to play at a 30th birthday party and kept in touch from then on. We were sent a varied list of songs to choose from; a mix of rock/pop both modern and classic. Once the booking was confirmed they asked us if there was anything we wanted added to the list and they would learn them for the evening! On the night the band turned up on time, and set up (and packed up) without any bother. Their performance was totally satisfactory, two excellent one-hour sets which included our requested numbers. Everyone agreed that The Krakens were a friendly, “tight” band that performed with confidence and professionalism which made our night that bit special. Would definitely recommend them!" Based in Bedford, England 17th April 2026 Paul A - 30th Birthday Photo of Nuclear fusion Nuclear fusion ""Big shout out for Nuclear Fusion. They were fantastic! Played an excellent mix of tunes that had all ages up and partying. And they played them really well. We've had loads of people commenting on how brilliant they were. Very highly recommended. Thank you for a great night Nuclear Fusion!! 🥳💃🕺🎸" We had such a great time. Thank you. Lots have asked us for the name of the band!! 👌" Based in Northampton, England Loraine Elks - 50th birthday Photo of The Big Phat Jukebox The Big Phat Jukebox "Great night from a great band, highly recommended !!" Frequently asked questions

The average cost of hiring wedding bands is £750, with prices from £180 to £2,250+. The main pricing factor is the number of musicians in the band, as wedding bands range from compact three-piece acts to large ensembles with brass sections and backing vocalists. Performance duration, whether the band provides music for multiple parts of the day and any extras such as DJ sets or lighting also affect cost.

Most wedding bands perform for two to three hours of evening entertainment, usually split into sets with short breaks. The first set often begins after the meal and speeches, starting with the first dance. Longer or shorter performance times can usually be arranged, and many bands also offer background music or DJ services for earlier parts of the day.

Many wedding bands are happy to learn a specific song, such as a first dance or a song with personal significance. For the best experience, discuss this with the band as early as possible, as some songs may require additional rehearsal time. Most bands will learn at least one special request at no extra charge.

The wedding bands listed on Gig Heaven range from small three or four-piece groups to larger line-ups with brass sections, backing singers and additional musicians. Smaller bands suit intimate venues and lower budgets, while larger ensembles create a bigger sound for grand receptions. Many bands offer flexible line-up options to suit different event sizes and budgets.

Most wedding bands are self-contained and provide their own PA system, microphones and any necessary amplification for standard event venues. For larger spaces or events with over 300 guests, additional sound reinforcement may be needed. It is a good idea to confirm equipment details with the band before booking, especially if the venue has specific noise restrictions or technical requirements.

Most wedding bands cover a wide range of genres, from pop and rock to soul, Motown, indie and current chart hits. Some also offer jazz, swing or acoustic sets for cocktail hours and dinner. Browsing band profiles on Gig Heaven is the best way to check repertoire, and many bands will tailor their setlist to suit the style of your event.
