Photo of Bagpiper: Robert Mitchell Bagpiper: Robert Mitchell "Robert Mitchell was very sensitive to our wish for a softer sound in the church and used the border pipes. He was extremely professional, worked well with the organist and pianist, and provided a lovely Irish touch to my daughter's wedding. Afterwards, he played the bagpipes outside while everyone gathered to greet the new couple with bubbles as they hopped into their limo. In addition, he provided a transition to the reception by playing the bagpipes outside the entrance. We are thankful to Robert and heard many positive comments about him from our guests." Jay Armsworthy & Eastern Tradition were the highlight of my husband’s 50th birthday celebration! Mr. Armsworthy is a complete gentleman and was recently awarded the 2019 Maryland Traditions Heritage Award. We were equally impressed to discover Mr. Armsworthy hosts a weekly radio show, Bluegrass By the Bay. The band is the real deal! Communication and logistics for our event were seamless, and their talent, musicianship, and harmonies - a gift. Our diverse crowd didn’t want the set to end. Thanks for a great evening!!" Based in California, Maryland (69 miles from Baltimore) Laura Heiss - 50th birthday celebration Photo of Dunlap and Mabe Dunlap and Mabe "I watched their promo video and thought this band would be a great fit for our community gathering. My main job is in concert audio, and I work with bands every week. I've done high main stream bands and garage bands, Robert Mabe put on a performance that was breath taking amazing. His band's sound was like nothing anyone has heard, our audience was silent with anticipation of the band's next musical note. Before the show was over city officials asked me for their contact info to bring them in for next year's fair concert. This band is worth 10 times what they charge. They are the real deal and will blow away your audience. And yes we're bringing them back." Based in Winchester, Virginia (83 miles from Baltimore) Joshua B. - Concert Photo of Ever After Duo Ever After Duo "Ever After Duo has been a regular part of Tavola's entertainment program since reopening after the initial COVID shut down. They have an incredible repertoire of music from the 60's through today. They are extremely talented musicians and very well received by our clientele - not to mention they are an absolute pleasure to work with." The Band was awesome...I'm still getting compliments from attendees (please pass that on to Haywood). We want to book JTucker & the Krewe for next year too! Thanks for your patience and working with us on this event. I can't tell you how much fun we had with the Band! Round of Applause! They are both talented musicians and their song selections had something for every music fan. I look forward to following them and catching their next gig!" Frequently asked questions

Hiring wedding ceremony musicians typically costs between $150 and $1,350+, with an average of $450. The price depends on the type of musician, performance duration and whether the booking covers the ceremony alone or includes the drinks reception. Popular options include string quartets, harpists, solo vocalists, pianists and acoustic duos, and ensemble acts cost more than solo performers.

The most popular choices for wedding ceremonies include string quartets, harpists, pianists, classical guitarists, flute players and vocalists. The right choice depends on the venue and the atmosphere the couple wants to create. The wedding ceremony musicians for hire include a wide range of instrumentalists and ensembles to suit different ceremony styles.

Most wedding ceremony musicians perform for 30 minutes to one hour, covering the key moments such as the guest arrival, the processional, any signing of the register or documents, and the recessional. Some musicians also offer extended packages that include pre-ceremony background music or music during a drinks reception afterwards.

Most wedding ceremony musicians are happy to learn or arrange specific songs for key moments such as walking down the aisle. Gig Heaven recommends contacting musicians well in advance with any special requests, as some songs may need time to arrange for a particular instrument or ensemble.

Many wedding ceremony musicians are happy to perform outdoors, though this should be confirmed with the musician in advance. Outdoor performances may be affected by wind, rain or temperature, which can impact acoustic instruments. Providing a covered or sheltered area for the musicians and their equipment is strongly recommended.

Some wedding ceremony musicians offer packages covering both the ceremony and the drinks reception or the wedding meal. Others specialise in ceremony music only. It is a good idea to check each musician's profile for their available packages, or contact them to discuss a tailored arrangement.
