" Unique, talented, mellow DJ! Brian was approachable to talk to, esp. with it being my first time working with a DJ. He was willing to take the time to listen to songs that were important to me and other things about the wedding (actually we had a renewal of vows celebration that was like a wedding). Brian gave great suggestions based on lots of experience. His skills exceed that of others DJ's I've seen -- he's a musician himself too...a really good one! He has a ton of songs to pick from, too; he even pulled out what I'd call dinner versions of a lot of the songs on my playlist for when we were eating (our plan was to have more mellow music during that time). He was friendly and flexible, joining in with 2 other musicians I hired for square/folk dance music. If you're looking for someone who will bring a calm presence, look no further. I've been recommending Brian to several friends. Bonus: he played the music the perfect loudness (as in loud for a party) but comfortable for the ears (you could hold a conversation). I think this contributed to our guests feeling comfortable and smiling the whole time and getting to know each other. I loved that Brian brought equipment for the music to be outdoors at the end when my husband and I danced our special Last Dance on the grass surrounded by family and friends; it was so joyful and fun. "

"WOW! Its very difficult to describe a musician in words, but what i can say is that David was far better than i ever expected. EVERYONE single one of our guests commented on how well David sung. We didn't choose any songs for David to play, i just told him to go with the flow. I had organised for David to play for 4 hours, we actually asked him to stay for longer as the atmosphere was perfect. Unfortunately David couldn't stay longer has he was already booked for the rest of the evening. I am now desperately trying to think of another party i can host JUST so that he can play to all of us again! I cannot recommend David enough. Many thanks for the AMAZING afternoon you helped create. "

"Pete St John, April 2012 . It happened as it always does in the folk music world ….. Unexpectedly !! … Four fine balladeers from Ballyfermot came to me singing my songs . They had fallen in love with a song I had written about the ongoing and inevitable subject of Emigration in the Irish way of Life . I had tried , in this particular song , to bring a little lightness to the subject … by admitting that Irishmen are all mammy’s boys !! .. the girls are special and loved but the boys are mammy’s pets !!! . And when they are far away from home they always want to call the Mammy !! “ Rambling Rose or Rambling Paddy Don’t forget to call the Mammy !! “ What a bonus for me !! … I could not be happier !! "We booked Pure Blarney after seeing the Promo video and reading their reviews. We wanted a band that would get all our guests on their feet and keep that dance floor filled all night, and wow did they deliver. They were absolutely amazing, from the songs, the interaction with the crowd and their energy, we definitely made the best decision. This truly is a band that you need at your wedding. Lively, enthuastic, entertaining, engaging and most of all an absolute brilliant bunch of people. Our guests have all said how fabulous they were, a lot have travelled from the UK, and have said it was the best band they have ever seen, and we both were blown away with how much they really made our night. Thank you guys, we could not have asked for anybody better!"

So many guests complimented us on the band. A great time was had by all! They also personalized the experience by singing happy birthday and taking song requests from the birthday boy. "Brian was absolutely perfect for our wedding. As my partner and I have totally different tastes, we wanted something that incorporated both of us and Brian was 100% willing to do that - he played jazz piano during our brunch reception, and then transitioned into classic party DJ music for the later portion of the reception. He took all of our requests very well, and was very easy to work with. When some guests made requests that went against our desires (line dances, gross!), Brian thoughtfully checked in with us before playing them, and of course he maintained the dance vibe of the party. He is adaptable, friendly, easy to work with, very good as a musician, professional, and "budget-friendly." I can't recommend him enough. "

"Wonderful entertainer, a real crowd pleaser December, 3rd, 2023 Bob sang for my mum’s 90th birthday celebration and was a hit with young(er) and old alike. He has a great voice and is also an entertaining story teller. His performance was the highlight of the night for my mum. Highly recommended. "

"Over the years Spectra have used Bob Ferguson, and his bands Celtic Horizon, and Beggars Row to entertain many of our corporate clients. Bob is a natural charmer, has a great voice and delivers many traditional, and more contemporary songs with great style. He always has fun on stage, loves to interact with guests, and uniquely can always be relied on to read the room so that audiences feel they are part of the experience. We love having Bob play for our clients!"
